His second song Ashes that he sang for their website can be found here: http://abcnews.go.com/search?searchtext=clay aiken&from=0&to=9&type=video. It’s under the title Clay Aiken Performs New Song.
I listened to Clay’s new song online the other day and I really like it. A lot. This song should be well-received on the AC charts!
That is really pretty live. I got a chance to hear this song on a fan’s MS page last week and I loved it. I really hope this CD does well. :)
The CD is actually quite eclectic - he utilizes different styles. In my opinion, Kipper, the producer, really realized Clay’s strengths to change things up a bit and he succeeded. His fans will love it and I feel new fans will be won over.
By the way, just got back from seeing him in Spamalot! What a comedian. It was so much fun!
After quite a few listens I am am really liking the album. Aas catdog says it does have a lot of different styles. I would have prefer the faster “Ashes” or “Falling” as the first single, but the label seems to think the public at large only likes ballads from Clay.
Clay has such a crystal pure voice. Just beautiful. I really can’t think of any Idol contestants who have had such a voice.
This is a really pretty song.
Clay is my all-time favorite Idol. His voice is truly a gift from God. How a hick nerd can sing like that is amazing. I saw Spamalot in March and it was well worth the money. My birthday is this weekend, and it has been killing me to wait on buying the CD. Normally by the 2nd day I would have every song memorized. I secretly still smirk that everyone loved “Carly’s” arrangement of Here You Come Again, stolen directly from his last CD.

Karen - you are so right about Carly’s “theft”. As beautiful as it was, it definitely was Clay’s rendition. But that’s Ok - Carly did a very nice job.
That sales report on Clay’s new CD doesn’t sit right with me. I don’t think it will be that low.
But CD sales are not what they used to be. Not everyone sells like Mariah. That is a rarity nowadays with downloads and music sharing.
I’m glad you posted Clay’s song Ashes, as I like it much better than On MY Way Here. The title song sounds a lot like something from Measure Of a Man. I have Measure of a Man and his Christmas album so I may have to check this one out.

Clay Aiken - On My Way Here
Genre: Adult Contemporary/Pop Rock
Rating: 4.85 of 5
Review By: Tony
It has been a while since Clay Aiken has graced the music world with a full blown studio album. 5 years after “Measure Of A Man”, Clay showcases his growth as a musician as well as a person. From the catchy “Ashes” to the inspiring “As Long As Were Here”, Aiken shares his diversity like no current musician. After every Clay release I find myself wondering what could he possibly do next to showcase his talent? Of course only he knows what is to come up next…. But with On My Way Here, he has hit another homerun. There’s a great pallet of songs to choose from. There are of course the Clay Aiken pop rock tunes that music fans all know him for, then there are tunes that will shock even the most faithful “CA” fan. If you are only a fan of his pop rock material then chances are you will be giving this disc a lower rating then myself simply because of that reason. But if you like a broad range of material that covers different musical genres then it is a no brainer that you will appreciate this release. The one song that I feel will shock many “Everything I Don’t Need”, because it is “CA” outside the box. Clearly going the extra mile to try something different and frankly I think it worked out perfectly.

I wish more reviewers actually listened to the whole CD like Tony. With all of Clays albums, I kind of say “huh?” the first listen and then as I learn the songs I find more and more to like. With this album, I can really say it’s terrific. Some of the sadder lyrics really hit home, while the upbeat songs are catchy.
Walmart, Best Buy and Circuit city have the phyical CDs on sale today for $9.72 - $9.99.
I like Ashes, but, it sounds like a similar melody from one of his songs on the first album. Now, let’s hear Archie sing like that!! Oh, and, Clay, please get a new do. Me, no likey this one.
