UPDATE: People is reporting that the story is indeed true.
“The story is true,†Bill Vigars, a Vancouver-based rep for David Foster, told PEOPLE Wednesday, of the TMZ.com report that Aiken, 29, impregnated David’s sister, music producer Jaymes Foster. “It is true Clay is the father. She was artificially inseminated by Clay. She’s due in August.”

The former “American Idol†alum will be the father of Jaymes Foster’s baby, the sister of record mogul David Foster. Jaymes, who was reportedly artificially inseminated, is due in August. The two live together in LA. Jaymes was married for 23 years, but has no children. When contacted by Access Hollywood, a rep for Clay wasn’t immediately available for comment. Last month during an interview with Billy Bush, Clay said he has worked with Jaymes for years. “[She] is the executive producer of the [new] album,†Clay told Billy. “She’s been my executive producer for the last two years.â€
Clay is such a mensch! I mean if it’s true. And if it is true, so what? This sort of thing happens all the time. All the time. So much for Clay managing to keep his private life private. That can of worms? It’s just been opened back up!

sounds like a family. congrats, baby-daddy.

Okay. I searched the topic a bit.
(i) Jaymes is 50 years old (or at least in her late 40’s)
(ii) Jaymes and Clay are living together (as lovers? as friends?)
(iii) Clay impregnated Jaymes by means of IUI or IVF
(iv) Jaymes had a divorce 2 years ago (so her being married for 23 years ended two years ago).
And I still don’t know what is going on. Clay never showed/told the public that he’s dating his producer (or dating at all). And from what I can see, Clay is very gay.
How can anyone see that someone is gay? LOL I’ve heard this about DC too. Is it true? Can anyone see if DC is gay or not? Wow, absurd.
Does research constitute reading the tabloids? Inquiring minds want to know.

Clay may have donated his sperm to help his friend get pregnant. This is a generous thing to do for a friend and an honor to be asked. Can’t we just wish all 3 of them well and leave it at that?
While we’re compiling a list of AI gays, it should be noted that Ace Young is also gay. Yep, read it online, so, it must be true. (snark) I’m still in the wait and see camp about Clay and this woman. It seems no one read the article I posted which refutes this tabloid story.
These things just go to show me that people are so quick with an opinion, which amounts somewhat to being judgmental. While this could be true about Clay, the jury is still out for me.
If true,t hen it’s his business. This sure must be a slow news day. Isn’t there an election coming up?
Let’s see, Clay stole Taylor’s thunder on the AI finale when he showed up with his new do. David Cook just got crowned this year’s winner, and, lo, and, behold, Mr. Aiken is once again stealing headlines. That boy is just a fame whore, isn’t he?
I read it, skylight. It doesn’t prove anything more than the original statement did the other way.
While I am not a Clay fan or defender, I think this whole story being public is unfortunate, no matter the truth of it. There is a baby that is going to be involved here and I hate the idea of any innocent child being born with this on their head. Notorious before he/she is even born - reminds me of Anna Nicole Smith’s little girl.
Anyway, as for living with Jaymes - this isn’t the first time he’s had that kind of living arrangement. Clay and Kim Locke used to live together too. FWIW

It really upsets me when someone says they heard DC is gay. That is so dumb–he is anything but gay. Some rabid Archie fans started that rumor all over YouTube not to mention a whole lot of other untrue comments to discourage people from voting for him. Last year they spread the rumor that Blake Lewis was gay to knock him down during the competition so much so that he went on the air screaming he was not gay. People can be so mean spirited.
But I do believe there are some minute demeanor that one can tell if a person has a tendency to be gay. I have about a dozen gay friends and by all I know they are gay the first few times I got to talk to them. For one, I directly told him that he’s so gay even though at that time, he had a girlfriend and he’s a devout Christian and he even tried to argue with me that the bible says gay is wrong (I myself believe it’s a biological issue rather than moral issue). In the end, he came out.
So, I am not saying I have that kind of power to know who’s gay and who’s not. But I (and many) do have that kind of gut feeling. This is what I felt. And no, David Cook is not a bit gay to me :-). This is just a personal opinion.

I tend to believe Foster’s sister-in-law before TMZ. I’m just that way.
