Constantine Maroulis to Star in Off-Broadway Musical Rock of Ages
In case you are interested, Constantine Maroulis has snagged the lead role in the upcoming Off-Broadway production of the Musical Rock of Ages:
Written by Chris D’Arienzo, Rock of Ages centers on a 1980s Hollywood rock club threatened by developers that serves as the backdrop for a romance between a wannabe guitar hero and a small-town girl. The show incorporates music from that era, including songs by Journey, Bon Jovi, Pat Benatar, Styx, Twisted Sister and Whitesnake.
Constantine. In a mullet wig. Again! If y’all remember, he also had a part in Broadway’s The Wedding Singer in the fall of 2006 shortly before it closed…
Rock of Ages will begin previews on September 30 at New World Stages and open on October 16. It’s directed by Kristin Hanggi.

I didn’t watch his season, but not too long ago I read an article that referred to him as a “heartthrob” during his season – is this true? :eek_wp:
AInoob, unforfunately yes. I believe he had a group of con con girls? They love him. Inexplicable, but yes. Bo Bice was my heart throb that season. Still love his very much married self.
It’s fitting though, since Connie is such an effing poser.

ainoob, he was the “shock boot” of his season. i could not stop laughing when it happened. (i know i’m evil.)
Was he really? (My shock is both for his being a shocking elimination as well as a heartthrob). I’ve only seen him do those interviews on the TV Guide channel with current Idols and/or celebrities in the AI audience and he always skeeved me. He seemed to have a smarmy way about him.

Ok, confession time, I loved him on season 4! He is actually how I found MJ’s site! I never posted until after season 5 was over though and not much at that. However, I see his true personality and smarminess now so I won’t ever support him. I can’t believe I actually felt sorry for him that everyone always “picked” on him!

Sorry, I just don’t get how he appeals to anyone, personally or professionally. Maybe it’s just his media image…(trying to give some wee benefit of doubt).
He just comes across as slimy, and smarmy, to me.
I can’t stand that slime bucket, especially since he talked down about some of the Idols. He’s in love with himself, and I just don’t get it.

IGetCranked it’s okay, everyone gets one to like one weird idol contestant. I liked Nikki McKibbon from season one, and have never come across another person who agreed with me, lol. I feel your pain. You get to say
