By popular demand, and I mean CRAZY popular demand, (posts about the DWTS line up were popping up all over the blog on the day they were announced. I took it as a sign.) I’ll be covering the upcoming season of Dancing with the Stars. That means, recaps video and news about the show, which begins with a three day season premier starting Monday night at 8 pm on ABC.
You guys will have to help me out. I’ve never watched the show before, so I’ll need you all to help me fill in the gaps. Don’t hesitate to call me out if I say something boneheaded. And I’m sure you will–I can always count on my peeps to set me straight. HA.

One fun part, to me, is some of the comments from Tom Bergeron. He is truly one of the best, and I would not mind at all if he wins the Emmy tonight.
Should be full of snarkworthy moments. No question. Not sure if they can match the Monaco Costume Malfunction (which, I think, won her Season 1) or the famous Osmond Faint and Collapse, but one can always hope!
I also would like to see Mz. Kardashian (and her butt–two separate entities, apparently) kicked off, but I have a feeling she may have to get in line behind Mr. Sapp.
MJ, thank you for covering it. I’ve watched since the first season. This season’s lineup is interesting, to say the least. It will be fun to watch along with all of you.
I think Tom is hilarious. He’s really a great “live” host. I love the dancing, I really do, but it would not be nearly as good a show if he didn’t host. I could do without Samantha, though.

Haven’t watched in a couple of seasons, but will prolly tune in as long as it doesn’t conflict with The Office or 30 Rock. I’m waiting patiently for the premiere’s!

PJ…I don’t know about 30 Rock, but DWTS does NOT conflict with the Office. (DWTS is Monday/Tuesday while the Office is Thursday).

I’m a big fan of DWTS. I started watching religiously since season 3 and since then have somehow rooted for the winning couple each year! There’s something about those athletes and dancing: Emmit, Apolo, Helio and Kristy.
However, I have to admit that something happened for me during the last season – I got bored. I think it was because I knew Kristy was gonna win it all. Or maybe it was because I was sooooo into Season 7 of AI?
Tom Bergeron is awesome and I like Samantha too. And the judges – oh boy, I can’t wait for Bruno and Len to get into it again. Hold those paddles up! The results nights are always pretty painful, but usually they get good musical guests and awesome choreography to match.
I’m really excited because my favorite male professional dancer – Maksim – is back! Hopefully Misty May can keep up and not be another Monica Seles – ha!
Lacey and Lance will be interesting, Karina will put on her best pouty face, Derek Hough and Brooke Burke could be interesting too, but Julianne and Cheryl have always been my fav female professionals. Wonder if their partners will keep up?

I remember Tom Bergeron when he was the host of a local Boston show back in the 80’s . He hosted Hollywood Squares too, I believe.

LOL! Somehow I don’t think she could be any worse than Billy Ray Cyrus, that crap was pitiful to watch, and it was the only reason I’ve ever tuned in. I think one of the judges characterized it as watching a dancing bear?

Seriously, I think that young guy will win. I’ve never watched an entire season, but I will just to see how this all shakes out. It might be fun if Lance is any good though. I am already tired of Kim (I have a big ass, therefore I am) Kardasian, so maybe we could get rid of her first? Dark horse is La Lucci, never underestimate the voting frenzy of a rabid fanbase!
