Alicia Keys and Miley Cyrus will be the entertainment for Tuesday night’s Dancing with the Stars big two-hour finale. This week’s dances, per the mostly reliable Dancing with the Stars Wiki:
- Lance and Lacey - Samba/Freestyle (Lance says he’ll be dancing old-school hip-hop)/Jive
- Brooke and Derek - Samba/Freestyle/Foxtrot
- Warren and Kym - Samba/Freestyle/Paso Doble
Tonight’s show will include the crowning of the Ballroom Kids, and each contestant couple will compete in what the flacks at ABC are calling a “Samba Smackdown” where they each perform a routine to an extended version of the same song. Lance, Brooke and Warren will also compete against each other in a “Freestyle” routine.
In Tuesday’s two-hour finale, all three finalists will perform one of their favorite past routines from the season. The judges scores for Tuesday’s dances will be combined with the judges’ scores and viewers’ votes from Monday’s performances to determine the winner of the AWESOME Dancing with the Stars mirror ball trophy!
During the two-hour Finale, previously eliminated couples will return to perform their final dances of the season. Plus, Cloris Leachman will take part in a “very special” “Man on the Street” segment and Jeffrey Ross roasts the three finalists.
Now, if I may be so bold, here is my prediction for the finale:
Conventional wisdom has the technically proficient Brooke Burke taking the trophy home when “Dancing with the Stars” wraps up their fall season on Tuesday, but I think there is going to be an upset, with Lance Bass and his partner Lacey taking it all. What Lance and Lacey lack in technical proficiency, they more than make up for in chemistry and stage presence.
Brooke and her partner Derek have the judges on their side, but I think Lance and Lacey have the fans in their pockets. Of course, football player Warren Sapp may have the biggest fan base of all. He and his partner Kym have been faltering lately, but if he manages some good scores on Monday, he could be the dark horse to win. At this point, though, with Lance and Lacey dancing well, (note their spectacular Jive and Mambo in the semis) they are the couple to beat.

Yes, Lance and Lacey FTMFW! It would be an upset, but I think it’s in the cards for them. I love Warren Sapp, he’s a fleet footed, sexy, big man, but he’s going DOWN!

Yes yes yes!! Lance & Lacey FTMFW! I think it could happen if they dance well tonight.
However, I think that the judges will give Brooke/Derek two 30’s, or as close as possible. I expect SUPER hard pimping of Brooke and Derek tonight and crazy high scores, because they are the judges fave. Whether or not it backfires I guess would depend on how overt they are with it. Then, I think the judges will give Warren/Kym and Lance/Lacey lower scores (not bad, but lower), to the point where they’ll be virtually, if not literally, tied for 2nd place. In essence, leaving it up to the fanbases - and I say that because I think both Warren and Lance have big enough fanbases to make up any kind of gap there is in the score between them and Brooke.
That said - I could be totally wrong and Lance could complete a story arc for them - from “edgy rebel” to “most improved.” Or Warren could complete the typical athlete story arc. I guess we’ll see.
I just think that Lance has a great blend of charisma AND technical ability which is why I think he should win and will be voting for him to win. Brooke has a lot of natural ability and technical skill but is very boring to watch for me. And Warren is a lot of fun and very charismatic, but is technically lacking. So, imo, Lance is an easy choice. Plus, he and Lacey just bring a huge smile to my face when I watch them dance. :)
