I know I’m in the minority, but I loved their fox trot even more than the waltz.

They are both just gorgeous dancers. Why they would hire Lacey and Inna and not Anya if they needed a new girl, I have no idea. She’s just such a good partner — both Anya and Danny (and also Pasha) made their partners look good no matter what they did. Lacey was out, injured, when I saw the SYTYCD concert, so I got to see the Danya waltz and the fox trot and Pasha and Anya doing a cha cha/samba mix, as well as Anya filling in for the samba with Danny. It was so hot with Anya. That girl is FIYAH.

Also, after thinking about it more, it REALLY irks me that Lance was (IIRC) the only one called out for a lack of rise/fall technique in his V. Waltz, when watching the show back last night, NO ONE perfected it, to my untrained eye. And I mean, really, REALLY irks me. (I repeat, sick of the pimping.)

This my fave of any V. Waltz, I’ve ever seen on TV. Of course, it IS two professional dancers, although one of them doesn’t specialize in ballroom at all.

I really felt that last year they were so desparate for a girl to win that they went out and found one of America’s sweethearts who could dance anyway (don’t ice skaters take dance all the time) and then rounded out the cast from there. Having said all that, I love Kristi Yamaguchi and she definitely deserved to win.

People love rooting for the underdog with personality, and the person that looks like they could never dance, yet pulls off an amazing routine. Ladybug – if anyone can pull that off, it’ll be Warren. I know a TON of people that love him – including myself.

t2 – I have to disagree about last season. Kristy Yamaguchi was the best dancer from the beginning (her first dance, the foxtrot just blew everyone out of the water so early!) and basically went wire to wire. Jason couldn’t touch her technique. He just had Edyta masking any faults.

The fact that the two of them are beautiful people with which to be partnered is sort of beside the point, but it doesn’t hurt.

I think we are going to see Brooke and Cody benefit from those partnerships to be carried a long way in this competition. Both are my favorites right now.

I will say again with Warren Sapp. Who knew? He is amazingly light on his feet. I don’t see him pulling an Emmitt Smith, but you never know!

Having said that, none of the celebrities are dancing at the level of Brooke yet this year. I have no issue with Derek finally winning a glitter ball either — ever since he danced with Jennie Garth, he’s had a soft spot in my heart. Also Brooke Burke totally and utterly rocked Rock Start INXS and StupidNova — even when she was pregnant so my votes go there.

I think Maurice Greene completely outdanced Warren Sapp this week. I just don’t get why the judges aren’t calling him on forgetting steps and his clunkiness. If anyone is getting overly pimped, it’s him.

I AM on the Brooke bandwagon, and I really hope she doesn’t become Stacy Keibler — who got voted off just shy of the finale (although I think that year, there was only 2 in the finale instead of 3 like it has been for several seasons – right?). I really think Brooke is just amazing and gorgeous to watch. Every week she really surprises me with her talent and the pimping is totally justified. This mom of 4 dances with such grace, and I almost shed a tear at the end of her dance tonight as she kissed her daughter. LOVED IT! My only fear is that a lack of fanbase could make her exit way to early.

That said, I’m also on the Warren bandwagon. He is just so damn likable and I’m also really surprised with his dancing. I get really excited when it’s his turn. I love Kym too. MJ is right though, he was just a little clunky. Not much, but just a little.

Never before have I had 2 strong favorites at this point in the competition. I’ve usually made up my mind on the one couple I will root for (who eventually wins). So I’m just a little confused right now. :hmm1_ee:

Let me just say this about Lacey: Bravo! Bravo! Bravo! Thank you for adhering to the rules! Lance and Lacey did look a little bit tentative and heavy on the downbeat, but I thought they were elegant and moved very well.

Cloris really has to go. I did not enjoy that Jive at all. But Rocco’s dance was not very good either. One of them has got to go.

As for the rest, well, I really don’t think they are match for the leaders. I think Cody and Julianne are cute, but they won’t win. I think Toni and Alec are good, but they won’t win.

Still, who knows what will happen. Case in point – poor Misty and Maks. At this point I really think a Brooke, Warren and Lance finale will be what we get at the end of the road.

I’m going to miss Maks’ gorgeous face/body and dancing (dammit Misty).

ETA: Yes, Bruno called Cody a twinkie, either funny or not, I am not sure.

- Cloris & Cody: That was freken hilarious!! Do you think Cloris was in on the pullng off of her wig? You go girlfriend!!

- Brooke & Derek; Technically very good, but it was also very boring.

I’m off to vote for Cody & Julianne, Toni & Alec, and Lance w/Lacy.

- Warren & Kym: Smooth, fluid, very good footwork. No chance of going home. I’m ssssoooooo impressed!

- Cody & Julianne: I think they have the potential to be really, really good in an another few weeks; if they can stay that long. I love his sense of humor. I’m def. going to vote for them.

Turned in late (yeah for DVRs). It’s just started on the west coast. My $.02:

- Susan & Toni: Too timid; in danger of going home.

- Lance & Lacy: Too timid, which is not their fault. Judges bithched about them being too contemporary and now their bitchin that it was boring and too traditional. I thought Lance did pretty well with his footwork.

- Maurice & Cheryl: Very good footwork! They looked good dancing together.

I thought Warren was good, but not as good.

I really enjoyed Toni and Alec. I liked the music and the costumes! She’s one of my faves.

I can’t warm up to Cody. His dancing seems so high school musical to me, and I don’t mean the movie. I like Julianne, though.

I’m ready for Cloris to go… her schtick is getting boring. I imagine if anyone goes, it will be Rocco. I mean, they gave him karaoke Tom Jones. LOL.

I don’t think anybody will go home this week, so I’m not going to predict anybody,

On a shallow note… OMG!!! Maks looked so hot tonight. The man is always fine, but tonight he was off the charts.

But, I like them too – she’s quite underrated in general, imo – so I’m vote splitting between Toni/Alec, Lance/Lacey, and Cody/Julianne. Warren and Brooke are probably more than safe.

ETA: And Misty is right – the world does need more Maksims! Like, one for each. Mmmhmmm. That’s what I think.

I actually really enjoyed Toni and Alex tonight. It was a cool concept and reminded me a bit of of the Mr. Brightside video. I think they will be getting my Maks and Misty votes.

And, Carrie Ann, a 6 for about 4 steps of actual jive? Come on.

It was a great dance, but I still liked Warren and Kym’s just as much.

Very nice, Warren and Kym! He looked a flat-footed when he paused between moves, but everything else was lovely. Makes sense to me that these football stars do so well–they have the stamina, the athleticism, the self-confidence, they’re used to hard work, they are fiercely competitive, and they accept coaching. Voila, Fred Astaire Sapp.

Oh, I liked Cody’s, except I didn’t see that he was counting. Plus, I thought he was eating her leg.

Am pissed that they’re dragging this Misty thing out til the very end. Please, ABC. :rolleyes_tb:

But Cody Linley’s incredible badness made me open my mouth. Oh my goodness! He is really not suited to the jive, is he? (And he got overscored by a LOT.)

Poor Rocco, he’s a cutie, but he’s also a galumpher.
I haven’t been wild about anybody yet, though Maurice was lots o’ fun.
Boo hiss, Len, for squashing the fun exuberance out of L&L. They just can’t win. Either Len approves and Bruno doesn’t, or Bruno and Carrie Ann love them, and Len hates them.
