I hope you captured Etta to video, mj. I’m so annoyed I missed her.

  • jenmor:

Thank you so much for uploading Adam’s performance tonight. You saved many of us a lot of aggravation. Yay to you!

  • Allison:

I forgot to watch! Who’s off?

  • reeboks1:

david alan grier got the boot.

i completely forgot he was even on the show.

  • Allison:

Thanks. Wow that Steve-O and Lacey are still on.

  • lydia:

Watching Idol tonight and then DWTS and not loving much on Idol except Allison, I realized what great singing was when I heard Etta James. Interestingly, earlier this year, when I loaded my CD collection into I-Tunes, I kept wondering why and when I had collected so much Etta James. She reminded me tonight what great singing and song interpretation was really about. Bravo!

Well I came to MJ’s to get some American Idol info & was unfortunately greeted with a spoiler at the top of the page for Dancing with the Stars (I had not yet watched the results show). It would be nice if things were put in different areas or if spoiler tags were used so shows would not be spoiled :dry_tb: :thumbdown_tb:

  • Hoppy:

I just made a shocking jump in the DWTS pool by going out on a limb and picking David!

And I’m not even really watching this season. LOL. (As opposed to AI, which I watch obsessively and suck at the pool. Haha.)

  • CRB:

    Grier got screwed.

  • TFLS:

Etta James was fabulous! Her voice should be declared a national treasure. Such power and range. Some of the Idol wannabe’s should take a note or two. They certainly have to brush up their toes to even come close! I think we all forget what good is after a while. That’s why such hue and cry over Adam Lambert. It’s rare for someone to be THAT good. Granted – Etta James has been singing for 1/2 a century – but she was always that good. Age has simply lent a little more flavor (like any fine wine or good cognac).

As for Grier – not one of my fav’s. I like the cowboy (though he’ll never win). The man has a wonderfully dry sense of humor. Who knew bull-riding created men with wit?

  • Damn. It. I forgot to change my points in the pool, and I was going to put them all on David too. Grrrr.

I guess I just don’t care THAT much about DWTS. lol. :)

  • abbysee:

People grouse over the voting on idol? Anyway I always forgot that David was in the competition so that is why he got the boot. Not the worst, but the least memorable. I won’t even comment on pool points.

  • hcpoirot:

I split my votes between Steve and David. It work!

I dont know why they bother with dance off. David got 24 in dance off. The fourth best overall and Lawrence again got 20 , the second worth overall. Still David got booted out.

So no point of dance off.

Though they always said judges and people at homes votes count fifty fifty. In reality, people votes were the most important thing.

If you got 30 from judges but only 5% or less from people votes, you can be booted off easily.

Next week, Lawrence, Steve O, Ty will battle it out who will be the next booted out.

Sorry to see David go. He tried so hard, and was far more interested in learning to dance than most of the guys (well, not Gilles, but the others). And he was pretty good. I always felt he got more criticism than he deserved – compared to the cowboy, Lawrence, Steve-O, and Steve.
