After a few days with no public appearances, Danny Gokey was back out on the road Friday for a weekend with three back to back concert appearances. Danny opened for Blake Shelton at the Spotlight Lexington Festival celebrating the World Equestrian Games, performing most of his set before heavy rains forced a delay. Fans who stayed through the downpour report that Blake gave a shoutout during his set to Danny, called him “his good pal Danny, ” and, interestingly, even included Danny’s name in a song. Miranda Lambert also reportedly popped in for some songs during Blake’s set.
Saturday saw Danny opening for Craig Morgan at the Great Frederick Fair in Frederick MD. Danny appeared at least once before at a joint event with Craig, a charity benefit concert in Nashville.
Tonight Danny will be headlining his own show at the “Big E” fair in Springfield MA. Other acts at this year’s Big E event include Miranda Lambert, Laura Bell Bundy, Jason Michael Carroll, and Owl City.

Craig Morgan and Danny Gokey closed out a week of live entertainment at The Great Frederick Fair on Saturday night. [..]
Gokey took the stage wearing a red-and-black plaid shirt, jeans and his signature eyeglasses. He performs like a seasoned artist, comfortable on the stage, interacting with the crowd and dancing. The 12-song set featured music from his debut album, opening with the uptempo songs “Like That’s a Bad Thing, ” “Life on Ya” and “Be Somebody.”
