If you are a sports fan AND a Daughtry fan, you’re in luck! ESPN will be using music from the upcoming album, “Leave This Town” (dropping July 14) during some of their sportscasts.
From DaughtryOfficial.com:
Beginning today Daughtry’s “No Surprise,” “Every Time You Turn Around,” “You Don’t Belong,” “Feels Like Tonight” and “Home” will be heard on ESPN for two months straight!
First, beginning July 3rd you’ll hear Daughtry on Nascar Countdown (pre-race show), Nascar Sprint Series races & Nascar Nationwide series races airing on ESPN and ESPN2 (check the EVENTS section for a schedule of races).
Then in August, Daughtry’s songs will be used in all sorts of sports programming on ESPN networks and ESPN Sports on ABC. Programs include Nascar Countdown, Nascar Now, Nascar Sprint Series races, Nascar Nationwide Series races, Sportscenter, ESPNews, Major League Baseball (on ESPN and ESPN Sports on ABC), Baseball Tonight, College Football Live, College Gameday and more!!!
Also, ESPN.com will feature an interview and live chat with Daughtry along with a link to buy the album in conjunction with the uses!
If you aren’t a fan, you might want to tune out. Ha ha. Kidding aside, this is some seriously good promotion, exposing the new album to that desirable young male demographic…

This is bigtime promotion. I thought Cook got plenty of extra play out of The Time of My Life because NBC used it on their Olympic coverage. NASCAR fans are right in the demographic Daughtry wants to be in.
I’m a big college football fan so this will be very cool. Congrats to Chris, he’s awesome!!
Way to go Chris…great news!
This is how you appeal to a wider audience. As a sports fan, I’m going to be getting a big dose of Daughtry.
A big congrats to Chris and gang.
They really deserve major promo like this! So excited for them!
Wow. Amazing promo. ESPN is available on cable tv worldwide. Even I watch it.
I’m very excited about this!! It’s a HUGE promo that will hopefully widen the fanbase.
How cool for Chris! I look forward to hearing it with football. I don’t watch the rest.
I don’t think they are receiving this promo because ESPN thinks they are “deserving”. I’m fairly sure they, or rather RCA, are paying for it.
Did someone say Sportsfan?Very good promotion maybe next he will be a guest on “Around the Horn”. Sad sports related new Steve Mcnair(ex-QB) and his women were found slain in their home….
Forgot to edit “A women” not “His”
I wonder how much this is costing? Big bucks. Now I can’t even watch college football.
Yes, they do deserve this promo. They’re proven winners.
I think the OP meant that they deserve this kind of promotion from their label given how much money they made for them. Artists who sell deserve more love from their label than those who don’t sell that much or are still unproven.
Chris’ voice is perfect for this type of thing. Daughtry songs were used last time around for various sporting events, football and such, a proven good fit!
