I hope the Snarkies don’t mind, but I just had to yoink this photo of David Archuleta performing next to David Osmond, with the rest of the Osmond family, last night at the Capitol theater in Salt Lake City.
David Osmond auditioned for Season 8 of American Idol and is rumored to have advanced at least as far as the Hollywood Round.
Smart for David O. to be seen with David A. before the season starts. I’ll bet they had a lot to talk about.
David Archuleta, a special surprise guest of the Osmond family at their Christmas concert, sang a medley of three songs with the Osmonds, “O Holy Night”, “Mary Did You Know” and “Amazing Grace.”

alleygirl–just what I was going to say. I don’t see thinking he’s more than cute when he’s talking, but when he’s singing–yowza. Did you see those AOL sessions? He’s good looking, and when the music starts, he’s so confident, he grows up. But when he’s interviewed, he becomes a kid at the bus stop.
All ages loving you makes one big time “STAR”. That’s why David Archuleta’s gonna be a success.
Youth does have its advantages.
David Osmond, I hope people give him a chance. Even people from famous families deserve their chance.
Tinawina, sorry if I creeped you out. I was just trying to be funny. I know exactly where you’re coming from. David has such an adorable baby face that he looks much younger than most teens his age. His speech and demeanor are also not as sophisticated as that of the average teenager. I’m guessing that his being home-schooled for a good part of his primary school life has contributed to his shyness and perceived awkwardness. However, I think that Jeff and Lupe have done a marvelous job of raising him. I hope David retains his sweetness and boyish charms for as long as possible. It’s good to see that he is embracing that side of him. He has openly called himself a dork or a nerd. Lucky for him, it is evident that he does not have to be a macho cool dude to be popular with the masses. Most others in his peer group want to grow up way too fast. David is a refreshing change of pace.
IMO, David A. wouldn’t have gotten as far as he did if he didn’t command an audience to a pretty high degree.
When David A the cute kid catch up with David A the performer, watch out! I don’t think he is aware what he does when he sings lol.

I know what you mean, and to me it is because he seems younger than his age. Though in some ways he might have an old soul, in other ways, i.e. socially, he comes across as a child sometimes. He seems sheltered and innocent, he giggles whenever girls are mentioned. On Idol he was an “aw shucks, gee whiz” kind of kid, and I do mean kid, because 1) at 17 he is a kid, and 2) he seems even younger than most 17 year olds these days.
So yeah, a lot of people do find it uncomfortable that older women lust after him … it is more creepy than other idols who at least exhibit some worldliness and lack of innocence and seem more like adults.
As I say, it’s just a perception but many do share this perception. In some ways he reminds me of Clay Aiken, because of the innocent persona that he projects, though in David’s case I think it’s real.
Aw, no need to apologize! I know you were being funny :) It was the comments section that squicked me out, and even that was fairly mild. Pay me no attention.
He does remind me of Clay in many ways. But I do believe his innocent demeanor is very real. I think he brings out the mom in me. I just want to hug him and put an extra cookie in his lunchbox. LOL. That kid is just adorable. The whole singing thing is just a nice extra to all the wholesome cuteness. Ha.

Did you see Jeanette MçCurdy was interviewed at FOD… I love her, after that interview I´m changing my choice for David´s ship for her… she is just too cute (I know this is out of Topic but somehow on topic since she voted for him in AI, well her grandma did)… and those pictures are just so cute…
DA is nice, truly nice. I don’t see how anyone could not like him. He is adorable, there’s no denying it. I’m curious to see him in 10 years. I think he’s pretty special, even if I’m not into the kind of music he sings.
Yes, I read the interview with Jennette McCurdy. I’m glad you’ve come around to my way of thinking. LOL! She seems to match up better with David personality-wise. I found it interesting that like David, Jennette had to struggle with crippling shyness when she was younger.
But to get back on topic… Did you notice that David Osmond is left-handed just like David A.?
