    Clothing: upwards of $800
    Photographer: upwards of $5000
David calling vandalism “graffiti art”: priceless

I dig that David can’t even stop singing to himself while he’s taking photos and attempting to hold a smile.

10,000x better clothing than the last photoshoot
10,000x better poses than the last photoshoot

Oh, and David is freakin’ adorable.

I think this photo shoot was awesome and if the pic from his album is from this, I’m so very saddened. You can look serious without looking dead (I saw negative life in his eyes in that pic). I also happen to think vandalism is art. I love graffiti…spend much time looking at it on the trains into Chicago. I either look at that (and truly admire the artistry in it) or my book (which I also admire the artistry in).

    Go Jive! Love the video.

That type of tagging is actually a huge pet peeve of mine. Graffiti art is usually planned out (and many times legal) and takes skill, but what was shown in the video was pure illegal tagging. That type of stuff is what ruins the beauty of the roadways here in Hawaii–no amount of tropical greenery can take the focus away from a huge tag.

    I liked the picture.

What a great video. I love David’s innocence and excitement about this whole experience. And it’s wonderful that we have a chance to watch it all through his eyes. How can you not love this kid? Yes….freakin’ adorable is right!

Loved it. The stylist and photographer really did a great job, as did David. He really looks his age here and he is a great looking guy. Wow, I don’t think I realized what a great looking young guy he is until this video.

This video is a classic… iTunes needs to sell it. Lol. I agree, the stylist and the photographer worked well with David, so well that I think that Jive needs to take note and use them for all future work.

He is so cute and always smiling - what a happy kid! I think he has matured and grown a little. Go Archie!

Do you all realize what a record we have of David’s life? We’ve seen him from his audition to his first big concert. We watched him hear his first song played on radio, saw his reaction when fans sang his song to him the first time, saw his reaction to finding out he debuted at number 2 on Billboard, saw him on set of his first video and now this! It is just mindboggling. I’ve never experienced anything quite like this. I think I like it! oh oh and saw him perform his single for the first time also!

Now about the shoot, I want to see the ladder pics. That looked cool!
Um and Archie, you look good in vests. That look is a keeper. *nods*

Ok - I so love this boy! I can just imagine how new and strange this must all seem to him. He loves music and wants to sing, and now he is having to “model” too! He just does everything with such enthusiasm and sweetness. He finds the positive in everything- even “street art”! Yes his voice is exceptional, but who he is as a person is priceless! No wonder everyone loves this boy-including the photog!

I like the first shoot with the sweater, he looked really good in that one… and this photo shoot give me hope about his album cover featureing David and a piano…that was the image that I wanted…

  13. 13 gerreb Sep 26th, 2008 at 12:03 am

Great video! I love the classic line from David, “It was a lot of fun.” LOL.
The vest look really works for him. And those red shirts look great, with the contrast of his dark hair. I agree that he really is a good looking guy!

That rustic looking piano in that setting looked awesome!

Finally - a decent stylist and a decent photographer. This is wonderful. I never thought about the ‘record’ that we have - you are so right. Cool Cool!

How did they ever get him to look serious. I would like to find a way to connect my ipod to the music that is always playing in his head. I don’t think he is ever NOT thinking in lyrics and sounds. What a happy person!

I always have though how cool will be to talk to David about Music, he seems to know a lot of songs and in so different genres… last time he was singign Metrostation shake it, and some fans swear they hear him sing Part of That World from Little Mermaid Soundtrack…LOL… I´m sure that will be one awesome conversation

Wow, I wonder when and exactly where this was taken. I live in Brooklyn and I wasn’t quite sure where this location was. Archie in the vest looked all kinds of cool. I also love him in red, the hoodie was very appropriate too. Go David!

  22. 22 clee1107 Sep 26th, 2008 at 3:00 am

I love this video. It seems Jive takes care of David seriously. David looks gorgeous! What a great looking young guy!

  23. 23 pouncer84 Sep 26th, 2008 at 5:25 am

FYI. The photo shoot happened when the tour was in NY. Rascal believes the location is Williamsburg, Brooklyn. David picked the picture for his album with the help of Lupe (his mom). This is what Brett wrote:

“Lupe (David’s mom) was over to our home today and she hadn’t actually seen the cover…even though she helped him pick it out…I hope I’m ok telling this, Lupe looked right into David’s eyes and said; “oh look at our David”…it was pretty moving!!!”

The album pic makes David look strong, in control, and someone to take seriously. He doesn’t look like a little boy anymore. He is his own person capable of making his own decisions, as often stated by Jeff/Dean/Brett/Richard. And he never was and never will be one of the Disney-model. He’s too talented to be held back like that. When you look at that pic, it makes you do a double take, it catches your attention and you want to find out more. That’s the genious of that album pic. To draw you in.

I’m so very glad and relieved that Jive has given David the support and space he needs to make the right decisions for himself. He really only needs to make himself happy; however, his fans know that he worries about what we think.

  24. 24 IGetCranked Sep 26th, 2008 at 7:35 am

Thanks for the info pouncer84. Isn’t it unusual for Jive to give so much control over to an artist? I did read the transcript of one of Dean’s chats and I remember him saying that Jive was giving David quite a bit of control.

Lupe’s heart must be bursting at the seams.

  25. 25 abbysee Sep 26th, 2008 at 8:03 am

It could be Williamsburg, I grew up there, but I am not positive. I did get the point of a serious cd cover.

  26. 26 cruzceleste Sep 26th, 2008 at 9:10 am

Someone commented once how hard it must be for Lupe to see David as a star,is like sending your song out college one year earlier and they both seems to be realy close…so is great that she os happy for him…

he looks real good in this video. he sure is fine. oops, i forgot he’s only 17. oh well, he’ll be 18 soon enough

I´m guessing lots of people are having the same idea… lol

I love that his opinions and ideas are being considered… I guess Jive have someone there to make sure he doesn´t take the wrong decisions…. Good luck David…can´t wait to see the rest of the pictures…

I think that if they posted photo shoot footage every week until drop date his fans would be very happy. :)

Right on, IGC! You said it all. I, too, feel so honored to have been able to watch this wonderful kid grow from a “normal” teenager into a star in less than a year. Amazing, really. What’s really mindboggling to me is the way he has handled it all…at 17. My fave was watching the video of him listening to Crush being played for the first time - priceless. The joy on his face was something I don’t think I’ll ever forget. Agree, too, that Lupe must be so very proud - hard for a mom to let go, but so happy to be watching her son live his dream. Go David, and thanks for letting us all tag along! :thumbup_tb:

    David is just a natural!

  30. 30 clee1107 Sep 26th, 2008 at 2:54 pm

Ohh..I’m dying. First of all, he’s really really good looking guy. He’s cute and serious in a good way :-)
Definitely, Jive will ( or should ) change the CD over. Well..Even though they’re using that serious photo, I can be happy with other pics. haha…

“Someone commented once how hard it must be for Lupe to see David as a star,is like sending your song out college one year earlier and they both seems to be realy close…so is great that she os happy for him…”

Yes. Even though I don’t have any kids, I feel same thing. He’s growing up in front of our eyes. It’s really touching and fun to follow.

    Go David!

Thanks for the info pouncer84. I really liked the album cover to begin with, but to know that David picked it himself, makes me like it even more!

Well, he’s quite a patient model.
