and omg, jason likes jackà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s mannequin?!?! he just won a ton of bonus points from me. andrew mcmahon = love.

Vixen, unfortunately my dial-up service does not allow me to view a video. Can you tell me what this reference means? Thanks!

I actually think the greatest uproar came when Constantine was eliminated so early in the competition. The forums were on fire. People are very polite compared to that Results Show.

    Gotta love Jason.

  • sciencefan:

Jason Castro had dinner with some family friends a couple of weeks ago. They asked if he needed prayer for anything. He told them that he’s really tired (because they work 15 hour days) so he could use prayer for that.

I can imagine that their schedule might be difficult for someone who is a low-energy person. I’m not surprised that he takes a power nap when he gets a chance.

As a fun-loving guy, I’m sure he’d hang out a lot more, if he had the energy to do it.

Grammie Kari: Andrew McMahon is the creator of the band Jack’s Mannequin, of which he is the main focus. He was also the lead singer of Something Corporate. His musical style is angsty piano-driven indie rock and it’s pretty much awesome, haha. Jason mentions Jack’s Mannequin as one of his favorite bands on his website, which is really cool.

Loved seeing Jason’s website, his sarcasm is hilarious. I think I like all of the Idols a little more after seeing that Idol Extra video. Except Syesha, she’s just too self-involved. I don’t care for David Cook, but even he seemed more genuine and they all seem to get along very well.

  • grayhound:

Michael Johns in relaxed mode while singing = Potential to go all the way.

It breaks my heart for what coulda been.

WHY didn’t he move away from the mic during his performances? If he had just engaged the audience a little, we would be talking about someone else leaving this week.

    sad sigh.

  • pj:

Well, did you see his shirt on results night? lol

I confess I didnà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t notice Jasonà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s shirt then as when I watched replay of the delayed local broadcast of the show, I was much too distraught knowing Michael was leaving.

I did check out the videos again, though, a while ago andà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ ¦Jason, what the heck was that, indeed, young man? LOL

He had to go thrifting because he spent his wardrobe money on the uke?

Seriously, do they get to keep the wardrobe money if they don’t spend it? Seems like that’s been his strategy all season.

  • Ok. Heà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s a bit red eyed, but not sobbing. When I watched the video this morning, I was looking for him to be really cryingà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ ¦

I recorded the episode to watch for him really crying later, too, but apparently not. *sigh* Still haven’t seen the guy really cry his eyes out live, dangit…

Michael’s really showing a lot of class, especially since he said he’d never expected to be booted so early. He’s really growing on me now. It’s a shame that it’s starting to happen just when we won’t see him on the show anymore (on stage, anyway). :(

I think I like all of the Idols a little more after seeing that Idol Extra video. Except Syesha, sheà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s just too self-involved.

Aww, me too. All these extra videos are really fun to watch; we get to what the contestants are really like off-camera, unlike with last season. I even started liking Kristy a little after that video, and now I like Carly a lot. LOL.

Syshrieksha will never do anything for me, however…

My eyes went blind for a second on seeing Jason’s webpage. Hasn’t anyone taught him what colors NOT to use so that it doesn’t drive people away? Hah.

  • Metta:

Devil’s Advocate checking in here. We have no idea how the clip of Syesha was edited. She could have told three other anecdotes of her experience answering the phones and yet that was the one they chose to go with. Also, it’s very likely that the idol (Kristy Lee?) who got that call for her was the one who brought it up first and she was asked to recount it. Again, we have no idea how it was edited.

I think it was tres cool that in one of his exit interviews, Michael revealed that Syesha was introverted but “hilarious” when you got to know her. This totally jibes with her comment about Ramiele. They were longtime roommates and that gave Syesha time to bond with her. People are different. Some will be your best friend from day one and others will be more guarded. Neither style is a reflection of character.

My favorites by a mile are actually Jason and Archie. But I think Syesha is getting a bum-rush to judgment, so I feel compelled to stick up for her. Not to mention that I think it’s GREAT that there’s still an R&B singer in the competition.

  • Not to mention that I think ità ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s GREAT that thereà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s still an R&B singer in the competition.

She hasn’t been embracing that for the past few weeks, though — Syesha has been more or less doing diva-type songs that require lots of belting and faux-emoting. I’d probably like her more if she laid off the big songs for once and did something a little quieter, with more of an R&B flavor to it. Her belting and overly-practiced performances aren’t doing anything for me; rather, I’m turning away. :|

  • Metta:

I respectfully disagree that all she does is belt and that her emoting is faux. She certainly has tackled non-diva songs. She don’t get no respect for those either. It’s all subjective. In any event, my post was addressing the way many have assigned a negative personality to her — not so much challenging peeps for not liking her performances.

    To each her own.

  • @Metta: Well, your opinion is your own and I’m respecting the fact that you’re sticking up for her when she seems next in line for getting the axe. I do agree a little more now about getting “assigned” a bit of a self-centered personality, but we can’t really see every moment they’re off-camera so I doubt we’ll ever know for sure how she’s like.

  • jersey:

I know you’re probably long gone by now but, Hi Metta! :bye_tb:

  • Metta:

    Hi Jersey!!! :bye_tb:

  • abbysee:

Metta, just cosigning what you said, again. Just as people are surprised about Michael John’s personality, I guess it would be surprising that Syesha was a nice kid. Maybe lacking a bit guarded or just cautious, but in fact a nice kid. It’s funny how we only trust the editing when it’s our folk being shown in a nice light.

I did love that both Michael John’s and Dave White of the Advocate both pointed to how good Syesha was on Inspiration night. So I wouldn’t go packing her bags just yet. The next few weeks could turn things topsy turvy!

  • Michael Johns used to be my favorite but now I’m DAVID COOK all the way. DC was my second favorite and then when I found out that MJ and DC became really good friends my choice was obvious….

    VOTE DAVID COOK
