David Archuleta blogs about finding time to finish his project for Eagle Scouts:
I also just wanted to let you guys know really quick that I had enough time this week to work on my scouting! I tried to do as much as I could earlier this week while I had some time off since I was home for a few days. And then.. I had my eagle project yesterday! I got a bunch of friends together to help me plant some small trees and shrubs at a park, and we planted 180 plants. I’m so excited about this guys! I didn’t think I’d ever have the time this year to work on my scouting, but we pushed for it. Completing this is a really big thing for me, especially since I was wondering if I’d even be able to get it haha. But I’ll let you know when I get everything wrapped up with that.

Well, good luck with that, Archie! He also reminds his fans that he’ll be presenting on the American Music Awards on Sunday, and will be participating in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, on 11/27, televised on NBC.
He also officially announces that “A Little Too Not Over You”–a song David co-wrote–will be his next single. Plus, he recently saw Carrie Underwood in concert.

He and Cookie are presenting? I sense a D2 moment in the works, which I realize I so want to happen. I want to see them together post-album release and see how they interact with each other — with most of the pressure off.

I love that he’s been blogging once or twice each week. He’s really great about keeping in touch with his fans. He’s such a good person, and that’s one of the biggest reasons why I want as much success for him as is possible. A guy like David deserves to be successful.

If the two Davids do get to present together at the AMA, wouldn’t it be so cool if they were to present the award to one of their fellow Idols, Carrie Underwood, Chris Daughtry, or Jordin Sparks? That would be surreal!

Way to go David! Getting an Eagle is no easy task and takes several years of work on the scout, parents and leaders part (my son is an Eagle Scout and well I remember that effort!). The Mormon church encourages their young members to work towards this award, but only the hardest and most dedicated actually earn it. The fact David has earned his Eagle Scout award amidst all the hubbub in his life is truly a herculean effort! Contrats to him!

Watching David’s journey has so many payoffs. He’s just an adorable gracious and kind kid. I also love that his friends are so supportive. That says something about his character and the character of his friends as well.
He is so approachable even as his star assends. I pray that he is always able to enjoy the concerts he so loved to attend, and that fans will continue to be as gracious as he is. The pic of the moms in the cowboy hats are Lol x 10.
I do have to mention a funny comment from Snarkyarchies in the comment section regarding the planting/eagle scout picture, someone asks “is he contemplating a murder”? Only at Snarkies, lol!
