David Archuleta – God Bless America – ALCS Game 1 – VIDEO

David Archuleta sings “God Bless America” during the 7th inning stretch of the American League Championship Series Game 1 between the Tampa Bay Rays and the Boston Red Sox.
I wonder if Brooke White cut his hair? Heh. Nice job, Archie.
Video after the JUMP….

kid’s voice is remarkable imo.

Just got through watching the Vh1 Countdown and the God Bless America performance on TiVo. I’m soooo proud of him right now. You were amaaaazing, David!! :thumbup_tb:
lol! haha, i second that.
Can’t help but like this kid, nice job David. Making fans wherever you may roam.
Bring back the spiky haircut. A few too many runs but overall very nice. I’m with you Duke about never backing a winner. I guess it builds character though.
LOL The Soup covers Mileys bday party… a little mention of Archie and a jab to Ryan Seacrest…
PS.
Sorry, if this is in the wrong thread… but is really funny…
IMHO, David’s “God Bless America” was really great. I think he’s very good at a capella and live. Frankly, I’m a fan of DA, it’s just amazing to me. haha…therefore, gelfling, I did not hear any missing note…

Clee – You’ve pointed out something that had alway intrigued me about Archie–how much better he sounds live. It always seems to me that whenever I hear a lot of singers live, I realize just how much their vocals get played with in studio recordings. Their live voices are generally not as good as their recorded music portrays.
A handful of singers (Archie included) are the opposite. In fact, during AI I always preferred his live performances to the studio versions. The studio songs sounded great, but I always felt that they lacked something and couldn’t decide whether is was the way they were produced or if he was just holding back. Now, after hearing him live in concert, I realize that yes, there is a certain tendency for him to “let it all hang out” when he performs live, but mostly there is an indescribable richness to the tone of his voice that somehow gets lost in translation in the studio (and even to a certain extent, on television). You have to hear him in person to fully experience how extraordinary his voice is for such a young man. It’s going to be interesting (and exciting) to see how much that evolves once his voice is fully developed in another 5-10 years.
First – apologies for being MIA lately. Been hella busy
LOL – not random at all. Tropicana field is indeed named for Tropicana, the makers of Florida’s yummiest orange juice.
I was at the game last night. David was pretty amazing. We were all darn impressed. He did a lovely job.
and of course….. GO RAYS!!!!
^^Thank you Spencer and welcome back, glad you have fun at the game
Ha-ha! David Archuleta — a new Disney character. That was cute. He sure has a big enough smile for it!
:laugh_tb:
This kid is effing amazing!
Absolutely!
I guess I’ve been building lots of character the last couple of seasons.
Anyway I loved the way he took it to churcb a bit. Great job David, there is alot of soul in that 17 year old.
Here’s a story from some fans(Mary and her sis from FansofDavid) along with Amy, from at the game.
Evidently he really misses all the fans and getting to interact and talk and such with them.
HMPF!!!
.
Welcome back!

Thanks Frog for posting the link to the fans story. So David was sick? aww.
David is so nice to his fans, but I hope fans don’t ask him too much like to please ask him to watch thank you vid or whatever especially when he’s so busy, though David would sacrifice sleep and rest to oblige.
Beautifully sung, Archie, and great to see you wearing the Rays shirt. We in the Tampa Bay area are all still amazed by how far our Rays have come this year, and how they performed during that second game. Go Rays!
