David Archuleta appears on Mornings with Mike and Juliet. He calls the paparazzi “creepy”. Heh. Even creepier? Juliet pinching Archie’s cheek. Patronizing much?

I have no idea what type of record Archelutta will put out….but what he’s singing now puts me to sleep. I sure hope he gets some slammin’ producers.

    “You’re 17. Get over it!” - awesome.

He’s just an awesome kid with an amazing talent.

he seemed like such a lil robot on the show

as for his music… hes got the voice but he really needs to “modern” it up a bit i’m thinkin

I hadn’t planned on watching yet another performance of Angels but his interview had me grinning so I couldn’t resist. Those women looked older than tweenies Simon.

This is a clip of Archie’s reaction to Constantine’s interview where he called Archie a “punk” and it really shows how mature he is and how great his character is. He pretty much just brushed it off his shoulders.

    LOL, IGETCRANKED…
I noticed that too. The fans who, according to Simon, are all teens & Grannies. I am pretty sure they fit neither category, so take that haters!!! haha…

Mackie, that clip won’t come up for me (?). I’m really interested in hearing it.

Juliet treated David A. like he was a little puppy she wanted to take home, LOL.

Thanks Mackie, that worked. You’re right, he seemed to just take it in stride and went on with the interview. Good for him. Am glad they only brought up the “punk” part though…good judgement on their part.

awww…. I am starting to like the little david since he is showing his personality now. He does seem grounded and grateful and has a great sense of humor. AND this is my fav of all his songs!

haha, “You’re 17, get over it!”. Smart guy. Mackie, I love how he’s so cool about that interview, like he didn’t give a crap about what Constantine said. He has a great outlook on life. And he never sings that song the same;it’s very interesting to listen to each one.

Archie is so danged adorkable. “You’re only 17, get over it!” LOL

  17. 17 abbysee May 29th, 2008 at 4:28 pm

I love this song and have listened to all of the incarnations. He is not on autopilot with it, he tweaks it with every performance. He’s adorable and funny. He is also quite bright and is taking all of this in. I am so happy for him.

Aww… what a great kid! So talented, ground and positive. And yet another great performance of “Angels”. Hope he gets to do the full length version on tour.

And yet another Idol rumour debunked.

I heard him say that he imagined his albums to be similar to Sara Bareilles. I actually find it easy to imagine him doing a Sara B kind-of album…..I just hoped he showed more of that during AI because folks have this image of him doing David Foster songs

  20. 20 MrsCastro May 30th, 2008 at 4:46 pm

I saw on this, or another interview, that he said he doesn’t envision himself doing the Josh Groban thing too (thank goodness), and that maybe when he’s much older he’ll go that route. But he truly loves music, pop with a message, so he’ll definitely be going the more radio-friendly pop route that we’ll all probably be listening to a ton of starting this summer. Can’t wait!!!

For those who don’t know.. he also likes John Mayer a lot, and has mentioned it quite a bit, along w/Sara Bareilles, and in the recent past, natasha bedingfield.

  21. 21 AInoob May 30th, 2008 at 4:54 pm

I can definitely see Archie doing something similar in style to Sara Bareilles, John Mayer, Sarah McLachlan, DMB, etc. and I think he would do very well. I do wish people would stop trying to say he should go the Disney route (even Justin Guarini said it on Chelsea Lately last week) because, whether his music is your cup of tea or not, his vocal style is not Disney at all.

  22. 22 MrsCastro May 30th, 2008 at 5:51 pm

What I want to know is why people think he should go the Disney route? That’s what is most puzzling to me. Is it b/c he’s young and extremely attractive? But what about the talent… is the Disney route for just EXTREMELY talented people? Am I missing something? I never thought Disney was for the prodigious singers with ridiculously bright futures… is it?!
