David Archuleta - News and Rumors! - Shooting Next Video Sunday and Monday

From the always reliable fansite, Fans of David:

The Bonus Tracks - The bonus tracks–including “Works for Me” and “Somebody Out There”–will become available on iTunes as individual purchases at some point in the near future, say a few months.

A Little Too Not Over You Video - David will be filming the video for “A Little Too Not Over You” (his next single) this Sunday and Monday. The video will be storyline based, just like Crush, but will be much more stylized. Two techniques that were discussed and discarded include a freeze frame super-slow-mo kind of like this, and the see-her-face-everywhere, kind of like in that diamond commercial. The technique they decided to go with? I can’t tell you until Tuesday. I’m sorry. It’s going to be amazing.

On the float tomorrow - David will be singing three songs besides Crush! If you are at the Macy’s parade, you will get to hear these. If you’re watching on TV, you will hear the 90-second version of Crush. Yes, lip-syncing.

“Works for Me” is the Daniel Bedingfield co-write off of the Wal-Mart version, “Somebody Out There” was a bonus for those who ordered the iTunes Deluxe pre-sale. I thought I had the pre-sale, but it turned out I didn’t Oops. This means I get a do over!

Just…WOW…at how Jive managed to get a video shoot together so quickly when they only chose the next single last Thursday. That’s one nimble operation, that Jive records…

    Yay!!

I’m really excited about “A Little Too Not Over You.” I have a feeling this will be David’s big hit off this first album. It’s got that great sweeping bridge and it’s one of those power pop ballad songs that can have staying power - like Avril’s “I’m with You” or Kelly’s “Breakaway”. I’m so glad they switched out Touch My Hand, which could have pigenholed him too much. ALTNOY has a mainstream appeal and doesn’t limit David to the teen-pop genre. Thanks to Jive for being flexible! Good luck David!!!

So happy about the possible release of the bonus tracks for individual sale, especially Somebody Out There. Arguably the best track in the whole thing…and unless you pre-ordered, you don’t get it. I understand why Jive didn’t include the bonuses on the album…but yet, not.

wow that was quick chosen exactly a week ago and shootting the mv ten days later wow. I just hope it is good and not done for the rush.

When will ALNTOY be released as single on itune?

Fingers cross ALNTOY will do at least as well as Crush. I’m waiting for Barriers and YEDL singles, now those are potential huge hits lol.

David is going to be crazy busy in December.

I wonder if they will once again be using Hagood Coxe, the actress who played the title role in the Crush video, to play the part of David’s object of affection in this new video. You know, they could make it like a continuation of David’s love story. They could do a whole string of videos for future singles based on that same girl. (Kinda like what they do nowadays with some commercials, like the Mac vs. PC commercials and the Geico caveman commercials.) Wouldn’t that be fun? If they do enough of them, it could become an epic love story!

The following is the sixth rumor from that same FOD blog

    6. There’s going to be a concert next week, unannounced at this point…David will perform 4-5 songs. More details to come.

Do you suppose they’re talking about the AOL sessions? Could that be considered a “concert”?

Aww, that makes me so proud to know that MJ attempted to purchase the Deluxe pre-sale version, particularly since we know that she’s primarily a Cook fan.

Jive is very crafty with their sales tactics. Giving everyone a chance to complete their David Archuleta collection is so nice. Waiting to release them until a few months from now is very smart. That way most people will buy the physical CD for Christmas. After everyone’s heard the CD, word of mouth will undoubtedly spread as to how good it actually is and so soon people will be wanting more Archie, and they will get their wish in the form of the release to iTunes of the exclusive tracks. Absolutely brilliant!

Im thinking since they might have had the TMH vid set up they just kinda switched over to ‘altoids’ and maybe used the same people.

don’t think AOL session is the surprise concert at least not to me lol.

    Happy thanksgiving to those celebrating.

    Saturday December 6

    * Paris Bennett appears with the San Diego Men’s Chorus, San Diego, CA. 8 pm
    * Blake Lewis and a host of other Idols are part of the Idolmania tour. Sarasota, FL.
    * Amanda Overmyer appears at the Elbo Room in Chicago, IL
    * David Archuleta performs at the Holiday of Hope Tree Lighting Ceremony to support One Heartland in Los Angeles, CA.

    ^^ from MJ Appearances Page

i’m guessing that the “reliable source” (cough, jeff, cough) is talking about the tree lighting charity thing in LA, the archueltas have often been behind the curve on how much info has already leaked out.

    Archuleta´s Dream Coming True

“VB: David, tell us about being a part of all this. Did you watch the parade as a kid?
David Archuleta: Yeah, it’s really fun to be a part of it because it is something I grew up watching and trying to remember to be up on time to see the whole thing. And it’s just crazy to think you’re going to be in it after watching it for so long. It’s just a really cool thing that families come to watch together and really enjoy.

VB: What are some of your Thanksgiving traditions?
DA: We watch the parade and we usually just went to my grandparents’ house to have Thanksgiving dinner with the whole family and have the turkey and the mashed potatoes and really just spend quality time together. I think that’s a really important part of this.

VB: So, being in New York this year, what are you going to try to do to maintain some of that family connection?
DA: My mom’s here with me, so I’ll be able to spend time with her for Thanksgiving, but I’m not sure what we’ll be doing. But the parade is a really big thing that we’ve never done before.
RH: He’s going to be making 40 million people happy on Thanksgiving. That’s the gift he’s giving to all of us.

VB: So, David, I know you’ve recently talked about wanting to collaborate with Jordin Sparks and Taylor Swift. Any chance of doing something with Kermit the Frog since he’s going to be there?
DA: [Laughs] Ha, Kermit. That’d be a fun one, too. He has that old song, [singing] ‘It’s not that easy being green!’ Yeah, maybe. Who knows?

VB: How has maintaining your music career after “American Idol” been different for you from being on the show?
DA: It’s been pretty hectic, you know, a lot’s been going on. It has really stopped since the beginning of this year, with the beginning of the show. But it’s really been a blessing to have so much going on, and to have an album coming out and being able to perform in things like the Macy’s parade. It’s huge. Things I never thought I’d have a chance to be able to do and here they are, coming to life, the things I used to dream about.

VB: So, it looks like you might have edged out David Cook in sales of your debut album. Did you guys have a little side bet going or anything like that?
DA: No, not really. I think it’s been made out to be like we were in a competition, but we were never really competitive with each other. We’ve just been really supportive of each other and he has a great album that’s out right now and he’s always checking on me and making sure things are going well and he’s always there whenever I need his help. He’s always been like a big brother and it’s really cool to have someone like that who’s there and understand what you’ve gone through and to be able to share that with someone like him.”

    BTW…Happy Thanksginving day….

I know, fingers crossed!! I actually think ALTNOY is more radio-friendly than Crush, at least on my local pop stations which skew a bit urban. Just hope more Program Directors give him a chance. I agree that Barriers and YEDL are the other best contenders for becoming hit singles. Maybe “You Can” too. ALTNOY is such a perfect winter single. Anyone know where it will be shooting? It would be cool if David were walking through a big city in the cold, wearing his little scarf and beanie…heehee
