Love the high five to David Osmond at the end of the vid! Archie looked like he was having fun!
Boy, he LOVES to touch hands in the audience doesn’t he? Guess his “hands” songs are quite appropriate after all, lol. Looks like he was having a great time. The ever-present Jeff looking over the situation was there in the background of course. But just a little after that he was hugging his family at the stroke of midnight, so that’s probably why he was standing there with the rest of the family close by.
Hmmm, first time seeing him at 18. He doesn’t look any older, lol. j/k.
Kinda strange looking function. I wonder what this event was all about? However, David looked great and sounded great despite a few cracked notes (too much vacation, perhaps). Gosh, he is such a cutie that none of that really matters. This was obviously some sort of personal level performance rather than a professional appearance. Perhaps as a favor to the Osmonds to sell tickets? (Didn’t realize it was an Osmond event until IGetCranked’s comment so I did a little research).
I didn’t think it looked strange, just looks like a place where people got together to ring in the new year. I think it was a dance and get together after some Osmond thingie. Anybody know the particulars….where, atendance, other artists, etc?
It was kind of a college event,kind of a Dance party, don ´t know much… Ashley Tisdale from High School Musical was also there and somekind of pop group… anyway… Justjared.com has David New Year resolution:
It was a two-part event, with the first part being a concert by the 2nd Generation Osmonds and other band(s) and the second being a dance which included special performances by David and other band(s). David was a last-minute addition, and the story goes that he appeared as a favor to the Osmonds. I’m glad he got to spend time with his family and friends. He looked to be having a great time, and despite the one crack I heard, he was in good voice.
Ok. I was there, and it was INSANE. I guess you could call it a ring in the new year, college dance type party, but there were not just college age people there.
It was quite a wild experience. My husband and I worked our way up to about 4 rows from the stage and stood and sweated there for an hour an a half (stood is probably not the right word- we fought to stay standing). We endured several hours of VERY loud ear- splitting music, (I am not sure I would call it that) that blasted our ears and made our whole body vibrate, while some local young people did random hip hop and some DJ’s threw things off and on and got people jumping up and down. There were these guys behind us who kept dancing crazily and then pushing and there were a lot of young ladies and women in front of us who were seriously getting squished. The shorter ones could barely breathe. It seemed pretty dangerous. My husband was right behind me protecting me from the insanity (he also likes David, but he was a very good sport). I heard one of the young ladies beside me saying they werenà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t sure if this was worth it. After David came out, I asked her if it was worth it, and she said, à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“YES!à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ What was really maddening is that these pushy guys pushed so hard when David was singing that they were able to touch his hand when he reached out to everyone. I was just trying to stay standing. I guess life isnà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t fair.
It was amazing to see David from about 5 feet away. I was kind of stunned when he first came out, so much that it took me until about half way through the song when it suddenly dawned on me that he was singing ALTNOY. He was fantastic as usual, and he looked so happy! He glowed with joy on his face.
People reported that he came at about 9:30 and partied with his friends downstairs until he came on to sing. After he sang ALTNOY and Crush. He did the midnight countdown and then his friends (I assume) came up on stage and his family and they took photos and rejoiced in the new year. He went across the front several times and touched peopleà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s hands and then left. Some other people spotted a huge white stretch limo that David and his friends apparently arrived in. After David left, my husband and I left, but I guess some people stayed and watched out that window and eventually, David and his friends left in the limo.
It was wonderful to see him up close, even though I didnà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t get to meet him, but I will only go to events that are better organized (chairs to avoid the mosh pit pushing and crowding). I definitely think it was more of a personal favor and a way to spend time with his friends- not really a professional thing.

I think the limo has been his mode of transportation for a while, but I don’t think you have to worry about him going diva anytime soon!

David was obviously the main star attraction to be given the pimp spot of singing two songs just before the stroke of midnight. I’m so proud of our Archie.
He seemed to be having the time of his life. I have to ask though–why oh why is his dad standing 2 feet behind him on that stage while he is performing? I know his family and friends were there to celebrate but honestly–that just looks too strange to me.
reinharv- I noticed that in the picture. The stage was much larger than it looked in the picture. He was at the very back of the stage, far away.
