David Archuleta Set to Tour with Demi Lovato, New Albums in the Works
Make sure you read David Archuleta’s latest blog to the very end. It’s hilarious.
So are his tweets. From Monday, “Oh my heck, there are cats outside fighting and they’re really loud! Hush cats! People are trying to sleep! You shouldn’t fight anyway.” and, “Woah, there was some kid playing bagpipes on the side of the road. That was confusing lol. Done rehearsing today though.”
So Random! Anyway, David’s ready to hit the road–he’s the opener for Demi Lovato’s summer tour. He’ll also be working on two albums–his next pop album and one for Christmas. From David’s blog:
Hi there! I’m going to try and keep this short and sweet! Think I can pull it off? I’m in Connecticut, and we’re here for tour rehearsals. We have 2 new band members now. We now have another David who’s playing bass, Dave haha. Our new drummer is named Jerry, and he’s about a foot taller than me. We’ll be rehearsing for a few days, and then have our first show Saturday in Del Mar, California! The first show for the Demi tour will be back in Connecticut, so it should be interesting going back and forth.
So for the last few days before I came to Connecticut for rehearsals, I was in LA recording for the Christmas album that’s coming out this year! I’m really really excited for that because I love Christmas music and Christmas times. I was also working on some material for the next pop album as well. It’s gonna be crazy working on all the stuff this Summer along with the tour, but I’m sooo excited you guys! Oh, how I love music lol. Anyway, I’m looking forward to seeing what will become of everything, because I’m really not sure how it’s going to end up. It’s the kind of thing that you don’t know what’s going to happen until it happens. I really want to work with more people on writing though and get that part of my brain exercised and movin’.
Today I found out that I was nominated for 3 teen choice awards! One for breakout artist, one for love song, and one for tour (with Demi Lovato.) Thanks you guys for giving your voice and helping me have the opportunity! You can vote and see who else has been nominated here: http://www.teenchoiceawards.com/webdev/index.php
Before I came to Connecticut, I got to spend the night (and just for the night, not even day) in Utah. I couldn’t sleep, and I mentioned the cats on twitter… But I wrote a letter to a friend and put it in the mailbox that night, or I guess morning lol, so I wouldn’t forget to send it before I had to leave to CT. Well funny thing, when I turned the door knob it was locked. You can open it inside but not on the outside. I didn’t have my phone with me, and no one was answering the door. I tried throwing small pebbles at the window but that didn’t work either. So there I was in my PJ’s outside, without shoes, and cold! I ran down the street to keep the blood going and went to a friend’s house, hoping they’d be awake or more responsive than at my place haha. I knocked on the window that I thought was my friend’s room, but I’m guessing that I guessed wrong or he wasn’t awake, or something. I went back to the front and just knocked on the door, and thankfully his dad happened to be awake. So he opens the door and there I am standing in my PJ’s feeling stupid, but I was so glad to go inside somewhere warm! Anyway I eventually got back into the house, and headed to the airport a couple hours later heh. Well I thought I’d share that story with you all lol.
Ok, I’m done now. With the exception of the story, I did a pretty good job keeping things short, right? Well until next time everyone! Cheers.

its doing fine lol I havent really kept track though. But unless you are a Jonai.. i wouldnt expect loads of sellouts lol lol
its also mainly been billed as for Demi anyway.. the commercials have had like a 2 second clip mention of him and not even all the tour dates show on davids ticketmaster page lol
At least radio stations have been mostly promoing it as david/demi or david tickets lol but the other promo is mainly demi.
I still think it would have been better if they co-headlined him. But such is life lol
David is such a funny, interesting guy. He is willing to share all types of tidbits about his life and yet this morning when the Boston djs were trying to get him to name the kid he alluded to who actually took food out of the trashcan in junior high, David did not budge with the information. The dj even said how about just initials and David wouldn’t do it. He also did not get sucked into the dj’s put down of John Mayer and replied that he hadn’t met him but he is an amazing musician. David has a very strong backbone and while the dj made jokes about and to David all morning and thought “easy target”, David actually will either answer sincerly about something or refuse to get sucked into a comment that is detrimental to someone else. I hope that Boston dj this morning listens to a replay of his interview because boy did he sound like a not-so-funny non-interviewer.
Awwww!
Yeah cmom, love that about him lol
The “small pebbles” bit slayed me. LOL!
He is just too unassuming! If everyone in the world had David’s attitude it would be a terrific place!. He hates liter, remember from AI. He is not consumed with making money and really is a laid back kind of kid.
I know. Most other people would be banging on the door or shouting at the top of their lungs to get someone in his own house to wake up. David is just too nice and unassuming.
You all will be happy to know that David had his socks on when he was running around the neighborhood in his PJ’s in the cold according to this tweet from him. LOL…
love arch!!
He makes me smile so much
.
Funny as usual. He is so unassuming and random. Just picturing him throwing pebbles and knocking on the neighbor’s door in his pj’s cracks me up. But it also shows he is so normal like us, not a big head celebrity.
I always anticipate what song he is going to recommend for a Song for the Day. I checked out Rabbit by Matt Duke and it’s a beautiful song. Thanks David. I wish David’s album will be a good mix of more acoustic and mature songs (on piano and guitar) and as Jive wants, some danceable music.
Thanks for posting, mj !
That is some real specific house info you have there.
Tess, I live in a community of 500K people, in a region of 2M (hardly “rural,” haha), and most of our single family houses have mailboxes at the curb!! LMAO!
Cool that you like him now. What changed your mind about him?
Seems everyone is on Twitter these days. One thing I have not yet done. I guess it is the best way to cyber stalk celebrities if you so desire
I picture David in his house with his mom/dad/brother and two younger sisters (don’t know if the older one lives there) all with their doors shut and David’s room full of gift bags and clutter from tours and unanswered mail that he sorts through, signs some stuff, mails some stuff back, keeps up with his friends who are on missions but I bet it still feels good to be in his own room sometimes. However, since this is the second time he has talked about being locked out of the house, I think they need to do something about a spare key.
BTW, this isn’t the first time he has been locked out of the house. Last October, when he visited Seton High School, during a Q&A, he was asked to talk about an embarrassing moment in his life. He proceeded to tell the story of something that happened to him just a week prior. One of his friends dropped him off at his house and drove off but apparently no one was at home and he didn’t have the key. So he was left sitting outside in the cold for half an hour. Eventually, he was able to reach a friend by cell phone. He ended up sleeping on the floor at her house. The moderator then asked the all-girl audience, “How many people here wish that they were David Archuleta’s neighbor so you could let him in?” A huge roar from the auditorium ensued. lol.

When I grew up in Salt Lake we still had mailboxes mounted at the front door and mailmen actually walked.
I just didn’t want anyone think that David was stupid enough to walk to a US postal mailbox in the middle of the night in his pajamas.
Where I live in Phoenix you have postal mailboxes somewhere near where you live (common areas). It’s 4 houses down and around the corner and I drive!
That’s rural? I thought everyone had that kind of mailbox? Wow, I must be way out of it!
Anyway, I would have loved to have seen the look on his friend’s dad’s face when he David showed up in his PJ’s, haha. Hilarious!
My mail box is on the side of my house next to the front door like most around here.. lol No box on a post for me. But i live in the city so i see more of this type than post ones
the blog is freakin hilarious but i still can’t get over the “Hush cats! … you shouldn’t fight anyway.”
i can just imagine david in his PJs looking out the window saying that out loud.
too cute for words
Hmm… I must live in a rural city, then? :blink_tb: Haha, okay.
That image made me literally LOL
My house is in a city, and all of the homes in our city have a group locking mailbox down the street, like appartment complexes. I drive to it as well.
Love the blog, love the tweets. I got such a kick out of both. I can’t help but root for a kid who is so unpretentious and good-natured. He has given his fans so many quotable moments, it’s ridiculous. We need an Archie lexicon guide or something. Rock on David!! Keep singing, tweeting and blogging! Love all of it!
I can’t blame anybody for not opening the door in response to his tossing of pebbles up to the windows. If it were me, and somebody did that to my window in the middle of the night, I would totally freak out! I would be too scared to come to the window to see what was going on. But obviously, David wanted to do things as quietly as possible so as not to wake up the neighborhood. He didn’t want to be like those dang cats! LOL.
FWIW, I like in a very large city and most of the houses I’ve seen have their mailboxes set on a post at the curb at the end of the front yard, presumably like David’s.
