David Archuleta – Star94 Jingle Jam Atlanta GA – VIDEO

David Archuleta performed his last Christmas show last night in Atlanta, GA for the Star 94 Jingle Jam, along with Gavin Degraw, Colbie Caillat, Rehab and We the Kings.

Rodney Ho from Access Atlanta was there, and although he didn’t get a chance to talk to David, he did grab some video. Before performing “Crush,” there’s an early birthday cake (David turns 18 on the 28th) and a round of “Happy Birthday.” Afterward, David sings “The Christmas Song.”

More videos: A Little Too Not Over You, A Thousand Miles, Works For Me, Crush, The Christmas Song, Happy Birthday.

I got back from the Atlanta Jingle Jam at about 3am this morning. It was a looonnnngggg, but amazing day!! I was not only in the 2nd row to hear David sing live, I was fortunate enough to be invited to a private meet and greet back stage. I am on staff at a David fan site and here are excerpts from what I blogged about after I got home:

David’s set was STELLAR!! He sang “Touch My Hand”, “Works For Me”, “A little To Not Over You”, “A Thousand Miles”, “Crush” and…”The Christmas Song”…A CAPELLA!!! As David was finishing “A Thousand Miles”, his band members brought out a birthday cake…w/o David knowing this. As David stood up from the piano to introduce his next song, he turned around and was very surprised at the sight of the band w/a cake and quite embarrassed too! One of the band members took the mic from David and said this would be the last time they see him before his birthday and they wanted to do for him. He also asked the audience to join them in singing happy birthday to David. After that, David TRIED to blow out the candles…but since they were TRICK candles…this was not possible!! It was a very cute, touching moment.

My mind is still mush right now from being both very tired and blown away, once again, by David’s ability to bring a song to life, make the audience feel the connection he has to a song and sing not only pitch perfect with his amazing voice, but enunciate every word so well and sing so clearly, that every audience member can understand and appreciate what he is singing. He truly is a great communicator through music!!

I saw David twice during the summer while he was on the AI tour and then at the Ford Day event. As amazing as I thought his previous performances were, I can not believe how much he as improved since then. His stage presence, his confidence and his voice getting richer…the whole package is beyond words!!

I watched that backstage video and noticed what the DJ posted on it:

David is awesome…honestly I haven’t met a niicer artist. He so positive and has come such a long way since his vocal illness. Lastly, his voice is BEAUTIFUL! GO ARCHY!!!!

    ^^ Very nice!

    Thanks rockfan! Love your recap!

Wow, David is really something else. That interview was awesome. He is so comfortable in these interviews. He’s learned some great skills in turning the subject in a direction that is comfortable for him, and usually charming the interviewer in the process. Fabulous!

Yeah!, That video is made up of all kinds of fun. He seems very comfortable with her. He definitely is developing some flirting skills. Way to go David!

Pictures at Access Atlanta. You’ll find David on pictures #5, 8, 10, 11, 12, 13, and 20. Do not miss Number 11. He looks soooo funny blowing really hard on those candles.

Awesome photos from Atlanta. Thanks Snarkys!

Billboard conducted reader’s poll: 10 Best Albums 2008….Mr. Archuleta ranks No. 2, behind someone who can’t sing Live. Here is the link..

Dang. The last Jingle Ball of the year. I’ll keep my ears and eyes open here in Utah, hoping David will give us a homestate performance over the Christmas break. We’d love to hear from him!

Haha… Archie is so cute. The trick candles was an inspired idea from the band. It certainly prolonged the moment for the fans and provided lots of humour. The flirty interview was great too. I think we’ll see that as Archie gets to know the various media personalities during his rounds of radio and tv stations, he’ll be more relaxed during interview sessions.

Cute interview at the Minnesota Jingle Ball. It’s all about beanies and Vitamin C.

In an interview with Popeater, Miranda Cosgrove, the star of iCarly, was asked this question, “Who is the coolest guest star you got to meet on the set of ‘iCarly’?” Her answer,

I got to meet David Archuleta recently when he was on ‘iCarly.’ I really enjoyed getting to work with him because he was so down-to-earth and funny. Also, I’m a big fan of his music.
