David Archuleta Unofficial Album Track List

The track list from David Archuleta’s upcoming album has leaked. I’m hearing this poster, from Idol Forums, is a reliable source:  Here’s the track list with notes from the OP:

1 Crush
2 My Hands
3 Touch My Hand
4 Barriers - (No Doubt meets Bob Marley)
5 A Little Too Not Over You
6 Your Eyes Don’t Lie - not sure how to describe (Bonnie Raitt meets country/folk)
7 You Can = Ballad (acoustic guitar) very beautiful melody and lyric, very “david”
8 Running - Midi Mafia - R&B/Pop/Kinda jazzy, Very Cool!!
9 Don’t Let Go - U2 meets the Fray style - pop/alternative (David co-wrote with JC from NSync)
10 Desperate - Big mature sounding power ballad - Desmond Child (Bon Jovi hit songwriter)
11 To Be With You - Ballad #2 (piano) Pretty love ballad
12 Angels - new version - Ballad #3 (David on piano)

13 Works for Me - Bonus Track (Walmart only) - organic bluesy pop - David co-write with Daniel Bedingfield

According to the source, there are other songs that are either co-written, or written by David that may be used as bonus tracks on other versions of the album.  David has been busy–he recorded 10 songs in the past 2-3 weeks to have as many songs as possible to choose from.  Jive made the final song selection.

This may not be the final order of songs, but according to the source, it’ll be pretty close.  David Archuleta drops on November 11.

Here’s the song that Desmond Child wrote (Desperate) which was recorded by a German group, Stanfour:

Should be interesting to hear David’s version of this song.

I don’t like “Desparate” from the youtube link. Hopefully David’s version will be better.

Congratulations to David for finishing the album!

Actually “Desperate” sounds like it would be a song for Cook. It’s basically post-grunge rock. It’ll be very interesting to see how Archie sings it.

Yeah “desperate” does sound like a Cook song. But I am VERY interested to hear Archie’s version!! I really like it the song though! And a new Angels too! ahhh i can’t wait!

I’m sorry, but I’m getting chills thinking of David singing “Desperate!” I have never been so excited for a CD in my life.

    DESPERATE

    You’re reachin’ out
And no one hears you cry
    You’re freakin’ out again
Cause all your fears remind you

    Another dream, has come undone
You feel so small and lost
    Like you’re the only one
    You wanna scream
    Cause you’re desperate

    You want somebody just anybody
To lay their hands on your soul tonight
You want a reason to keep believin’
That someday you’re gonna see the light

    It’s 3a.m.
There’s no one left to call
    And sleep’s your only friend
But even sleep can’t hide you

    From all those tears
    And all the pain
And all those years you wasted
    Pushing them away
    You’re goin´down
    It’s time you face it

    You want somebody just anybody
To lay their hands on your soul tonight
You want a reason to keep believin’
That someday you’re gonna see the light

    Cause you’re desperate, desperate
    Cause you’re desperate now

    You think that things
    Are gonna change
Then you’re back to feelin’ strange
What’s it take to make you feel alive

    (desperate, desperate, desperate)

    You want somebody just anybody
To lay their hands on your soul tonight
You want a reason to keep believin’
That someday you’re gonna see the light
    You want somebody just anybody
To lay their hands on your soul tonight
You want a reason to keep believin’
That someday you’re gonna see the light

    Cause you’re desperate oh-oh…
    Cause you’re desperate tonight
    Desperate, desperate, so desperate tonight
    Tonight…

I love the lyrics. It’s a very profound song. It’ll be a nice contrast to the other songs that will be on the album. I can’t wait to hear David’s haunting rendition. It kinda reminds me of “Apologize.”

    What happened to Ruined Me????

  14. 14 sabby_rina Oct 20th, 2008 at 1:12 am

I know what about Ruined ME?!

Desperate does sound like a Cook song. Hmm interesing, Archie’s album is all over the place. So many different styles. I think thats a good thing.

  15. 15 soundscene Oct 20th, 2008 at 1:16 am

I guess Ruined Me didn’t make the cut. But really, I’d rather have an original song written by David and JC than a cover of one of JC’s older songs.

  16. 16 gabam Oct 20th, 2008 at 1:38 am

I’m glad that they are using the new song JC and David wrote. A 17 year old singing that a girl ruined him for life would make me sad. LOL.

    The described songs seem interesting.

  17. 17 davidlove Oct 20th, 2008 at 3:54 am

Wow - I’m loving Desperate! Archie’s voice is suited for this song, and it’s movin’ me! The lyric “you want somebody, just anybody, to lay their hands on your soul tonight” would appeal to him in a spiritual way. As well as “you want a reason to keep believin’, that someday you’re gonna see the light”. I think it fits him well.

Here’s another song ‘floating’ around YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iXF8kmWcXJM

Domino, written by Drew Ryan Scott of the group Varsity Fanclub. I believe this demo is done by him. What do you guys think of the song??

  19. 19 tinawina Oct 20th, 2008 at 9:02 am

Me no likey “Domino”. Its cheesy. I like “Desperate” better, but it does sound very Cook-ish. I want to see how Archie does it. So far the best of the lot, besides “Crush”, is A Little Too Not Over You” imo.

  20. 20 Aladdin88 Oct 20th, 2008 at 9:09 am

It was confirmed by David’s camp that he was not going to be singing “Domino.”

Add me to the list of people who can’t wait to hear David’s version of “Desperate.” I’m more of an alt-rock kind of girl, so this song excites me more than any of the others. I think he’s going to kill with it.

  21. 21 marco5ny Oct 20th, 2008 at 2:17 pm

I actually quite like Domino! It reminds me of One Step at a Time by Ms Sparks. I’m corny as Kansas.

  22. 22 cheese Oct 20th, 2008 at 5:09 pm

Hmm, a couple of these sound interesting to me as someone who’s not a particular fan of Archie’s music. I wonder why they are leaking bleh tracks like “Archie’s Song about Hands” and “The Other Archie Song about Hands” if there are “U2 meets the Fray” and “No Doubt meets Bob Marley” songs on the album. The latter definitely intrigues me since I can’t really imagine ska/reggae with a bunch of signature Archie runs.

  23. 23 dante Oct 20th, 2008 at 6:03 pm

I really like Desperate - will be interesting to hear Archie’s take.

I am so excited for both David’s CDs. I wish they would do a duet. I like to listen to Heros from the finale.

    Both great voices!!!!

  24. 24 LK08 Oct 20th, 2008 at 7:29 pm

Cheese- DA’s fans love all the leaked songs, but he has said there would be a variety on his album- something for everyone. Some people are going to like songs that are more like “U2 meets the Fray” and “No doubt meets Bob Marley”. They may not like some of the others.

gabam- I am still hoping “ruined me” will be a bonus track. DA will not be 17 for long, and even 18- these songs will be around a long time. Also, many fans feel that DA has ruined them for life, so the song is very appropriate. :)

  25. 25 Skylark Oct 20th, 2008 at 8:12 pm

David will make all the songs on the album his own, just as he did with the songs he covered in the Idol concert. No worries.

  26. 26 davidlove Oct 21st, 2008 at 5:23 am

I was a skeptic about this album. Thought they would try to turn him into Groban and fail. Thought they would mismanage him.

Can I say I am quite optimistic, excited and am now planning on buying? Crush and Desperate have definatly piqued my interest.
