The big news bulletin? David is “thisclose” to getting a dog–a little scotty he’s going to name Dublin.

2nd Bonus Update: Video from CNN. The interviewer is also named Cook, and they have a cute little exchange about that. She may be the only interviewer who asks David if he’s disappointed with the sales/chart performance of “Light On”. He says no, because he’s in it for the long haul. Not surprised he switched from a Great Dane to a Scottie- spending all summer on a crowded bus must have convinced him that small dogs are a lot easier to travel with! And he said he’s getting one “much to my manager’s chagrin”. Does Simon Fuller hate dogs?

No idea why a manager wouldn’t want him to have a dog. Tour manager, yes. Regular old manager? No idea.
How cute was that? He’s always so relaxed and poised in interviews. And smart. And funny. And charming. It’s not fair. Sigh.

I loved this interview. Just sit David down and let him talk for as long as he wants. I’m there. He doesn’t have to sing. I just like the sound of his voice.
But seriously, I love that this isn’t edited down to 2 minutes, the more David I get, the better.

If he is planning to take the dog with him to all of his various press ops and promotional gigs, then the dog will be another thing that will have to be managed somehow. Someone’s got to see to the dog’s well-being during transportation and it is going to have to be kept and walked while DC is in front of the cameras.
Dude, so long as boyfriend doesn’t carry the dog in a manpurse, I won’t have to break up with him.

I know, right? It’s like every woman/man who interviewed him for the past month gush about what a nice guy he is, even if they don’t like his music. LOL. I don’t remember him being so charming during the press rounds after he won idol. He’s probably happier now, that’s why…
After a few minutes, I started thinking he was in the room talking to me! hahahaha! So I guess I’ll watch this a few more times. But he doesn’t talk back when I talk to him…wah.
So gracious and grateful and adorable and goofy and witty and just…darling. I dunno, I’m out of words for this man. Awww. Nice interview, some good questions. I’m glad we keep asking about Analog Heart too. And might get to hear some of those songs LIVE, along with The Guys Who Are Making David Cook Look Good Right Now Band. That’s kind of a long name for a band, dontchya thing? Love you guys.

WPLJ LO was awesome, thanks for ripping, MJ. 102.7 was great too, but it looked like only Neal’s guitar was plugged in? I could barely hear DC’s strumming, which is a shame, because the two guitars sounded so nice on the WPLJ version.
How about just calling them the Look Good Band for short? Win, win?

I don’t know what’s funnier, that she’s wearing a David Cook button or that she chose that picture…
Really? That was when I actually became a fan of Cook’s. Musically, Archie is more to my taste. But Cook’s wit & charm after winning Idol is what really won me over.
The interviewer wearing the button is hilarious! He actually seems a bit more subdued with her, so maybe the button (and looking at his own face on her chest) was intimidating?
How about the Hair band? Heh. But honestly, all of them have great hair, even Neal (despite being overprocessed and dyed to within an inch of its life).
Sweat? Dis? Contra Band? Hee.

I think the difference is that he actually occasionally gets to sleep these days. He was charming after the Finale, for sure, but I also felt like he was so tired that he had to hold back a little bit, like if he spoke freely he might misspeak and get himself in trouble. Remember how he always had the perfect diplomatic answer then? He’s more sassy and unguarded these days, and lots more fun!
I’m with you. Though I started getting obsessed with DC by ABMB, and lost my mind during Top 2 and voted for the first time (for like 3 hours, no less!), it was really seeing his charm and wit during post-Idol media blitz that made me a goner. Watching his adorable tired flop on Leno right after the win, followed by his witty and well-handled/-spoken answers convinced me to seek out every last ounce of Cookie crumb in existence, and that was the day I lost all my free time to the Cookie shrine forever.
He was doing the look-down-and-don’t-make-eye-contact thing he did when singing Yo Face “to” Hillary. I think BF likes to turn on the charm and flirt a little when the subject either needs a bit winning over or just seems chill, but he seems to get a little uncomfortable when he has to face women who clearly floved him on Idol. I think it’s understandable, and totally endearing.
That’s the impression I got too. He was very “proper” and shy with that lady with the button on her shirt. He seemed a bit taken back by the gushing. Totally adorable. Hope he never loses that (whatever that is).
Well, they could always call the band Cookie and Cream. I know that’s kind of a silly name. :P

David Cook Buzzworthy Interview Pt. 01
The link works outside of the states, it’s working for me. For those who can’t see it, are you guys from Canada? I know canadians usually have more problems. If not, my advice is try again, because it works.
He’s so articulate and cool, isn’t he?
I got Cook’s cd earlier today and I listened to it a couple of times. Am I too late to comment on one song? I gotta say that I want to marry the song Avalanche. Listening to a manly voice singing about “rolling in your arms”? Hot. I love all the words that are related to the title- “crashing, falling, rush, crushed, swept, fumble”. It’s a gorgeous melody and vocal. So after listening to the song four times in a row I had my brother listen to it. He teaches guitar in a music store and he thought the song was crafted really well. He loved how at the end of the song they cut off the chorus in the middle of a measure and started up again with the drum rolls creating a tumbling efffect repeating the choruses- just like the title of the song with waves and waves of rushing melody. He’s learning the song on guitar now.
Anyway, I liked the MTV interview. They stepped out of the way and kept the camera rolling. Nice.

Jocelin, I really enjoyed reading your take on Avalanche. It’s one of the songs I only discovered after a few listens, but now it’s one of my favorites. David’s voice on it is simply breath-taking, IMO.

Dunno for sure. I’ve personally not met Elvis Duran. I was just reading the signs behind him.
I just looked up an image for Elvis Duran and the answer would be no. Maybe just someone who works for him. Elvis looks to be in his 50’s? Greying hair, stocky.

Oh Jocelin, ITA on Avalanche! This morning on my way to work, I just set the stereo on REPEAT on that song and played it about 6 times in a row. Of course, I can sing along too! Really well. In my car. Alone. Hee. Yes, I think that’s why I like it so much too, the words, the imagery and feelings he provokes just…by…singing…in…that…voice.
A couple or so months ago over a few different conversations, I referred to David Cook as CRASHING into my living room on Idol. And little did I know at that time, into my life. Well not PERSONALLY, but you know…. Like an avalanche, isn’t he? And his MUSIC. Hey, it’s all about the music.
Which brings me to something OT finally…really like the acoustic Light On. YAY acoustic Light On! YAY Neal. Nom nom nom. And as always, lovely interviews with Mr. Cook. He just rarely speaks a wrong word, does he?
