David Cook Congratulated On His Efforts to Fight Against Cancer

When Diane Sawyer asked David Cook this morning in a pre-performance interview on Good Morning America if he was “surprised by the range of fans,” he alluded to a previous conversation:
“I was also talking earlier about…just this idea, I think it’s so cool that I have fans that are not only supportive of me, but supportive of the causes…I think moving forward I’m excited to get out in the public sector and keep going.”
That thing he was “talking earlier about” was a special presentation that went down before his performance on GMA:
This morning, while at GMA, David was presented with a gift thanking him for all he has done to inspire his multitude of fans to get involved in the fight against cancer.
On behalf of all of David’s fans across the globe and across the Net, three letters were framed into one big presentation of love and support for David:
- The CEO of the American Cancer Society thanked David for inspiring his fans to raise more than $28,000 in celebration of David’s success.
- The Campaign Manager of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Light The Night Walk in Florida thanked David for his fans’ participation in their annual fundraising event when they walked for Lindsey Rose.
- The Media Relations Manager of All-Children’s Hospital expressed her gratitude for inspiring an ongoing creative activity after local fans participated in an extra-special community service activity to thank David for his support of those who battle cancer.
David was told all about your work, including the parties, SU2C, LLS Light The Night teams, and everything else you have taken on to help eradicate this devastating disease.
Congrats to David and his fans! Well done. Check out DCO for more information.

Awww…what a great surprise this must have been for David! Too bad they didn’t air this on GMA….I suspect Cook might have even shed a tear or two.
Awwww, that’s awesome.
He looks like he’s crying in the picture. Why am I not surprised?
That is so awesome! Yes, i think I do detect some tearing up. DC is just an all around awesome guy!
^^ Sniff… he really does. That’s a really awesome gift. Good job wordnerds!
I teared up myself (all my money gone…j/k). He’s so appreciative that it makes it all worthwhile.

it’s really cool that his mom is also in NY with him
IIRC, his dad was at DWG last week
That’s beautiful. I’m glad he is appreciated for his charitable work. He also sounded great this morning. It was the best I’ve heard him sing Light On in a live performance. Really awesome.
Ugh. He is crying. And his face looks like porcelain.
