A big giant thank you to ThinkofMeArchie for the heads up on her San Diego Videos. “My Hero” is newly posted, but she’s got a whole slew of videos on her page, from David Archuleta, Brooke White, Jason Castro, Carly Smithson, Michael Johns and Ramiele Malubay.
BONUS: Pulling this out of yesterday’s comments–Scans of the entire concert tour book.
ETA: SUPER bonus: Long fan video of the Idols at the buses before the San Diego Concert HERE originally posted at Castrocopia.

One other video from ThinkofMeArchie that I was just coming over to post: TOML from San Diego. Not even for the song itself (although that too, obviously), but for the hilarious banter afterwards. He does a Brooke impersonation (whispery, because she’s been on vocal rest) and a really funny Irish accent to impersonate Carly. I wish more people would record the banter between songs, because it’s one thing DC seems to change from show to show, and it’s highly entertaining.
Oh yes it is Jolene. Just watched IDWMAT and the joy and high of performing comes through clearly at the end of the song.
Now that I have watched DC over and over…I’m off to watch some of the other performances-it’s only fair ya know.
Again…a great performance. He’s right to recognize he’s blessed; he is, as are we when we hear him.
Thx Jolene. Think I’ll go over and check out the banter. He’s really funny. I remember in one behind-the-scenes video, David said his nickname for Carly was “Tater” cuz she’s Irish. That cracked me up.
Yeah…he does good banter. More of that confidence coming through.
An aside: have you ever noticed that when you like someone it’s “confidence,” but when you don’t, it’s “arrogance?” Take Obama for example. If you like him, you see an easy going, well-educated man with leader potential. If you don’t like him, he’s an arrogant elitist, based not in small part on his excellent education and his ease at conversation. Praised and damned by the same criteria!
So you know what I say?
COOK FOR PRESIDENT!
Patchchat…you are right on the money about Obama and DC.
Ramiele, Wow! That was just plain bad….just that little snippet. Poor thing…I do hope things improve as she gains more confidence.
DA’s “Aplogize” is very good indeed. The other songs are not my taste, but he sings them just fine.
Jason is adorable…very sweet and listener friendly. Brooke’s okay. Let it be was good. Market for his style isn’t big but I hope he carves a piece our for himself. Willing to buy a record of his songs depending on how they sound.
MJ is good but not very interesting to me….same with Carly.
Was fun watching the videos.
I found some beautiful pictures on Flickr from the San Diego show. Gorgeous, very close pictures of all of them

I never got a good look at the outfits they wear for the closing number. Gawd that outfit..Cookie..yowsa.
I missed the tour book in yesterday’s thread so I’ll comment here since MJ posted the link above. All of the idols look great. I just skimmed the questions and answers for most of the idols and all I can say is Jason makes me LOL. When asked what he wants to do with the rest of his life - “make music and make babies”. LMFAO.
Oh, those scans of the tour book are FANTASTIC! Thanks so much for those.
And am I mistaken or is DC wearing the PDSTM (”Your arms around my waist…”) jacket? It was my favorite outfit he wore all season and I’ve missed it so! This was the original from Idol Gives Back. If it’s not, it’s very similar, and that’s a great color for him. I know a lot of people love the “arm porn” when he wears just a tee, and I do too, but I like when he’s dressed up a tad. I feel the same way about all the Idols. I think they should dress like their stars once in awhile on the stage.
I believe he is, and that’s one of my favorite outfits on him as well. Must have something to do with the context of that PDSTM performance… hmmm.
Hopefully, that means he owns the jacket, and maybe we’ll get to see it again later on. I have heard the idols actually own all of their clothes from the show, which makes me wonder about some of the other jackets we haven’t seen in a while (HLTW and Day Tripper both had GREAT jackets IMO).
Thankfully, the Innocent jacket has been donated to charity.
LOL
Am I the only one who really like the “Innocent” jacket and the performance…yeah-probably.
No, you’re not…I’m firmly there with you. We few, we happy few.
Nope, I loved it. Never quite got that “pompous” comment….
I’m going to echo the other fans of “Innocent”, I loved the performance as well.
Love, love the “Innocent performance” Adore the studio version, most favorite thing to blast in the car!!
Wasn’t a fan of the Innocent performance, but the studio version totally rocked! I listen to it a lot in the car, too!!! It never ceases to amaze me!
Count me in as a yes to the jacket and the studio version. I didn’t get the smug thing, I just didn’t think the sound worked in the short snippet he got to sing.
I also loved the jacket he wore for I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For.”
Innocent - Love the studio, hate the jacket, can’t watch the live version (mostly because I was so scared he’d be eliminated that week, that that performance just carries bad memories).
I loved the ‘Innocent’ jacket AND the performance, but the studio version was in a whole other league–mainly because you got the full version of the song. (So glad I bought it.) I really feel like people in the press (who seemed to uniformly pan the performance) are a bunch of lemmings. Simon hated it, ergo it must have sucked. Yeah, right, and songs with bird imagery are pointless too!
I guess we’ll never see the white jacket again, but I’m glad we got to see the PDSTM one again in the program.
I really hope that as David meets more and more fans on the tour he gets some positive feedback about his more underrated performances from the season, like ‘Little Sparrow,” ‘All Right Now’ and ‘Innocent.’
