When I first heard about these commemorative stamps months ago I laughed and rolled my eyes and thought the idea was a little silly, so how come I just ordered two sheets?
did you notice that the picture of Cook at the finale, surrounded by the others, is a backward photo? His hair is parted on the wrong side and Michael and David A are on the wrong sides of Cook. I thought it was impossible to make that mistake these days because no one uses negatives anymore.
DC has forced me to do so many things I had never done before–itunes, vote, CARE, etc. I guess I’m going to be adding a page of Idol stamps to that list, hee.
Actually, at least 3 of the photos have been flipped. Why would they do that? It looks like he is playing his guitar right-handed in the one. I must say I’m a little disappointed in whoever the designer was on these stamps.
OK I’m back…had to go order my stamps immediately. Yeah what’s with the lack of licking jokes here? I expect more from you folks! Spritely, yeah, me too. Dammit I keep doing things I’ve never done before, like buy GOSSIP magazines, tons of them! I bought these silly-ass stamps, a new stereo for my car, my 1st ever iPod, downloaded music & vids 1st time ever, got iTunes, started reading a blog 1st time ever!, t-shirts, bracelets, newspapers, other literature, myspace, mozes, imeem, hundreds of $$ of concert tix, going out of state & taking vacation for a concert, discovered MORE new music, got interested in music again!, made a couple new friends in other states even! And yes, now I CARE about some things I was attempting to not care about for a few years…damn Cook and his magic rainbows, his voice, his writing, his singing, his dorkiness, his heart on his sleeve…everything. Just damn him. Sigh.
Sometimes they flip images cause they think it somehow looks better that way (don’t ask me, I know squat about design!) You catch it a lot in movie promo stills and trailers.
Sooo are these the lickable kind of stamp or the sticker kind? :D
-follow idol for the first freaking time in my life

-discover this blog (still don’t know the true definition of a blog, though)
-click on this page multiple times a day
-watch silly TV shows. “Mike and Juliette?” Who the heck are Mike and Juliette?
-watch news from every Fox station in the U.S.

-embrace my inner cougar who is fast becoming my outer couger. WHERE MY T-SHIRT AT?
Hee hee - I guess people DO remember comments that one makes on American Idol. During the season David Cook mentioned that he reads women’s magazines like Glamour in order to try to get some insight into what makes women tick. Last night he was invited to an exclusive party with Desiree Gruber And Glamour’s Cindi Leive to toast Glamour’s New Senior West Coast Editor James Patrick Herman. The other star in attendance was Audrina Patridge.
LOVE the shirt he’s wearing but how many necklaces is he wearing? LOL
The only thing I haven’t done that’s on “your” list is buy an ipod, but you should see my itunes playlist on my computer. It has one artist on it. Twenty times. And my only regret is that I didn’t buy everything while I still could.
Glamour Party! Adorable. But omg, does this mean that he’s going to force me to buy a Glamour someday? They’re expensive! I just know he’s going to make me buy Vanity Fair eventually, too. And noooo, not Cosmo!!! David, have mercy. At the very least, stop mentioning magazines! Or, could you mention Smithsonian, since it already comes to our house? Surely, you read Smithsonian Magazine to find out about, uh, cougars?
I was about to make one when I saw this thread, but I’ll just hold my tongue now. LOL
I don’t remember the last time I ever needed stamps except for some weird school projects, but maybe I’ll buy some now just to stick them in my notebooks and be able to stare at DC’s face any time in the day without being caught.
Poor David, I can’t believe he was subjected to Audrina Patridge (okay, so I don’t know anything about her but what Joel McHale shares with me - and I don’t like her from that, lol).
Great pictures, but I’m with Trina - how many chains is my favorite molten hot lava bomb wearing?!
I thought I had sunk to the lowest low when I sat through that Wal-Mart shareholders’ meeting. Then, the other day, I caught myself watching The View…? What’s happening to me?? I’ve got a purse full of regular Forever Stamps. Why doesn’t that matter? Why????
Okay, Patchchat, spritely and kathryn, Many, many things on your lists apply to me too! I think my kids are finely getting used to my monopolizing of the computer.
I chat with new friends from all over the country almost every night. (one fr. Brazil)
ipod-yes (wishing I would have bought more itunes)
joining imeem-yes
t-shirt-yes
stamps and not using-yes (I’d love to get his autograph on these somehow!)
bracelets
searching the internet for more, more, more
never questioned going to top 10 concert (only one, but would have never have dreamed of doing so before)
I even bought a white jacket the other day and realized once I got home it looked similiar to the one he wore when he sang “Innocent” LOL.
One question: What does someone do at a Glamour party, besides look good of course?
The flipping of the photos seems like a pretty bad decision—the victory photo with the idols is pretty well-known (at least among people who’d consider buying the stamps) and the guitar photo seems to make him look right-handed.
No licking jokes? MJ, you’ve got class!

i bought the carrie ones and actually got an error sheet
I bought the ones for NY and ended up getting the side part that said NY and all the stamps said New Mexico
You can flip a photo in photoshop - no need for negatives.
Terrie, sooo lol.

Hm. Why for the extra 58 cents could they not make it a “forever” stamp? Sorry to sound like such a cheapskate, but there’s a recession on.

kathrynTX, lol! I swear, he’s a one-man cure for the economy. The Council of Economic Advisors should sponsor a David Cook Appreciation Day.
Buy CookStamps, Save the World, hee.
I watched The View, I bought tickets for the tour, but I refuse to buy stamps lol. I almost did though.
Ack! Guilty of being classless (in yesterday’s thread). Heh.
(I blame Ryan Seacrest.)
Spritely and Katherine from Texas!

(They usually crop and then flip the designs to balance the weight in the photo if needed.)
I never buy stamps!
Nothing to do with stamps but LMAO
David Cook attends Glamour Party
LOVE the shirt he’s wearing but how many necklaces is he wearing? LOL
Patchchat, hey, you stole my list! lol.
