When DC used the word “albeit” in this interview, my husband said, “Man, this guy can actually speak well and has a really good vocabulary.” Mightily impressed!
Yeah, he’s Mr. Cool, Mr. Charming and just a delightful interview. And he says he was nervous throughout the competition, but like a pro he never let you see the sweat. Also, I like how’s completely OK with tears, and what he said about learning to knock down the wall and show his vulnerability and emotions.
One thing tho: like MJ, I LOVED “Happy Together,” and am sorry he can’t own it more.
Sure, he gradually got a great fashion makeover and became more and more assured and bold in his performances. But I fell in love with him when he turned that Turtles tune into “rock joint,” and I sill love to watch it because: 1) he sounds great, those terrific sustained notes are gold; 2) I love that deliciously cocky little flirty thing he was doing; and 3) I just like that great old tune, and he made it fresh and irresistible.
I hope that as he goes on to Rock Star Realm, he doesn’t abandon some of that early playfulness we saw!
David Cook - The American Idol: He wears it well.
He is adorable, humble, witty and definitely the HAWTEST Idol ever.
He just looks like a star. I am so happy for him. The future is bright for this man.

Sherryw…the “EEAAASY” part was my favorite, too. You could tell he was trying not to say he thought it was lame, but the audience saw through, and he kind of gave in while still looking professional. That’s awesome.
My question is, why couldn’t they have had him sing instead of that other girl who sounds exactly like some other person?
I think the boots are my favorite part of his whole wardrobe.

And on another subject, as typing lava bomb made me think of it, did anyone else thing Mr. Randy Jackson (aka Capt. Kangaroo) was fairly subdued on finals night? Out on the red carpet interviews and sitting at the desk — kinda quiet. He and Simon must know ahead of time. That would explain Simon’s apology as well.

I thought Randy was pretty quiet for Randy on the night of the Finale as well, and it seemed strange and out of place.

I loved that interview so much last night! How humble can you be after going on very little sleep? He was so adorable and charming. Yes, I adore him!
What a great interview. He continues to handle himself so well! I love that he can laugh at himself, doesn’t think anything is beneath him (dancing in his underwear or the group sings).
He is great at avoiding saying anything negative by answering the part of the question that allows him to be positive. i.e. “Is it kind of a letdown now that the show is over?” He doesn’t say “It was super stressful and a lot of work, so no.” Instead he simply says “now onto the tour,” and even gets in the start date and city.
He handles himself really well. Go Cook!

I loved that Jenna Bush (on before him) said she got so into Idol this season that she voted “40 times”. Well…she’s obviously not and over-the-top Cooktard, but she’s one nonetheless….

Yes, when Leno asked who she voted for she said Cook. She may not be as die-hard in her power voting as other Cooktards but considering she was literally just married, I was thinking where did she find the time. Shouldn’t she have been on her honeymoon or something? LOL

Lots of video game talk..guitar hero and madden…lol: “18-34 yr old males, embrace him! for he is one of your own! (and buy the darn record when it comes out)” I was talking to my bf (who is an 18-34 yr old DC fan, yay!) about video game sales - GTA4 sold 3.6 million copies in one DAY, and those suckers are $60 a pop…no wonder they want that market. So is Nintendo an Idol sponsor now?

I just don’t know how he’s able to come out and be so eloquent and charming on only an hour of sleep. So utterly relaxed & confident (at least on the surface) in any setting. What a representative Idol has this year!

god i love that man. that interview was GREAT! but u know what i was thinking? what if archie HAD won… i just cant imagine him doing this many interviews and being articulate enough to handle them all. tho, i’ve noticed he is getting better at them and seems a tad more relaxed and personable.
