Don’t Forget: So You Think You Can Dance Tour Pre-Sale Today, Plus Nigel Defends Katie
It’s so sad that Janette and Jason were eliminated from So You Think You Can Dance last night…but the good news is, you can see them dance again when the SYTYCD dancers go on tour beginning September 20 in Manchester, NH.
The So You Think You Can Dance tour ticket pre-sale begins this morning at 10 am.
If you miss the pre-sale, the official ticket sale begins Saturday. Click the link (if you could please–it helps me keep the site running) to buy tickets. Thank you!
PS: Nigel Lythgoe (@dizzyfeet) twittered that Diane Warren has written a goodbye song for Season 6 (barf).
Also Nigel, and Adam Shankman (@adammshankman) have been twittering frantically, defending Katie Holmes‘ less than spectacular Judy Garland homage from last night’s 100th anniversary show. Nigel’s threat to ban all the “haters” is especially lulzworthy.

Do you need a presale code?
I have nothing against Katie Holms… I actually like her….
)
But…. “less than spectacular” may even be giving her too much credit …
Glad I’m not the only one feeling a little “let down” by Katie’s big number. They’ve been chattering about it for weeks and I really expected to see this huge extravaganza! It was a yawn.
does anyone think it is ever worthwhile using TM for a pre-sale? I am asking because it is obvious to me that only limited seats in selected areas are offered for sale (or else many events would simply sell out on pre-sale day).
TM is keeping top seats back for an auction and IDK if they are skimming off tickets for their premium site like they were caught doing by Bruce Springsteen who put a stop to it for his shows.
I was putting in my order for Boston before my computer clock said 10:00am (the order page had come up) and while I got floors, for ordering 5 I got at least 1/2 way back.
Makes me wonder if not better off to wait for regular sales day unless the pre-sale comes back with awesome seats. Too late for this time, but I know in concert pre-sales, I have often just abandonned offered seats and waited until the main sale date.
I’ll be checking the pre-sale seats in just a few minutes (Central time).
Regarding Katie Holmes, I have to admit I have no idea how she did – I wasn’t watching her, I was watching the guys dancing with her. :smile1_tb: :
I am not going to the Tour this year (too much money for Idol tour!
and do not love S5 enough, sorry to say), but when I got tix for Boston Idol Tour, I got in at 10:08AM pre-sale, and got seats 12 rows back, floor. I assume that is good for the Garden. But you might want to wait to get tix tomorrow. Or maybe you can trade up? The Agannis Arena, if that is where you are going, is pretty small, but I sat there two years ago, and half-way back isn’t awful. I got my tix last minute, however, and I was at the VERY back of the arena. THAT was a waste of money. I suppose it’s a crap shoot.
As far as Katie Holmes, I thought it was an EPIC FAIL (okay, it was just a fail, but it was one for me). I love the work she is doing for the charity, but seriously? With all of the amazing alums they had at the show and the Idol alums they could have brought back, they used Katie? I nicely tweeted Adam S and Nigel. Nigel said he was going to block “Katie haters.” I am not a hater, but I do feel that this was a big mistake on a big night (and a fun one, too; Wade, Travis, and Heidi set me into a Paula-like puddle).

And as for the results: BOO, especially for Janette. I had her for top 4, along with Jeanine (who BETTER NOT BE VOTED OFF NEXT WEEK). Jason was not a total shocker, but I think Ade or Evan should have gone first. AND SAVE BRANDON. I haven’t voted this season, but I guess I’ll have to now.
suebrody – thanks for your note on Agannis – I have never been but it seems like a small place.
I am not going to get worked up over Katie Holmes. I appreciated Tyce’s work and that was a Judy Garland tribute – it was not about Katie trying to be one of the pro dancers on the show. That “throwback” style was all about guys fawning all over a woman and not so much about the woman dancing up a storm. And sure it was pre-recorded on a special sound stage. It would have been nice if she could have sung during the taping instead of separate recording. I just take it for what it was.
MJ had it bang on the nail – same as I thought WED night. As soon as that cancer number played out, those two went from bottom to safe. It was a great number, but if no one had introduced it, it would have just been a nice number and I at least would never have realized the motivation behind it. If anyone else could have deduced that from the dance itself – sans explanation – then wow you sure have the artistic eye (I know I don’t).
just got an email–FOXTV is one presale code
I don’t have much of one either, I don’t think – most dances just kind of go by in a blur to me, although I am beginning to appreciate it more since I’ve been watching the videos on here. I think I would have realized what this dance was about though because of the use of the head scarf. I thought this dance was beautifully done and it did affect me emotionally because of memories about my mother. It was a great performance but I agree that the emotional impact of it ensured their safety this week. I don’t have strong feelings about any of the dancers, I like them all and admire them all. I was a little surprised about Janette though, I think they’re all really good but she seemed the most likeable to me, I thought that she just had a really cute way about her.
