What I did on My Thanksgiving Vacation…

I saw Elliott Yamin at the Roxy in Boston…

I was standing on the left, next to a speaker, so video was out of the question.

However I took TONS of photos. Check out the Elliott gallery on my My Space page.

A few highlights after the jump…

Pretty packed house, even though the show was not sold out.
Jo Jo the teenaged pop-singer was outside and could not get in because she didn’t have ID. Whoever was with her talked security into letting her in–he said that she would not be drinking. She was allowed into the club with her small enterouge.
I sat for the first sets, but then managed to get a spot at the side of the stage next to the speakers for Elliott’s set. There was no way I could record–the bass was blaring in my ear, but I did manage to get some good photos.
Elliott has developed his own performing style that really works for him. He’s very comfortable on stage, and he seems to be having a blast.
It was the end of a lengthy fall tour but he still sounded really good.
In the middle of the show, he talked to the audience about the fund raising he’s been doing for diabetes. He asked people to buy some t-shirts he was selling at his merch table. He explained that the proceeds would help kids around the world get the medicine they need. He lifted up his shirt to show the audience his insulin pump. That’s called acceptance, people.

Enjoyed your recap and pics MJ. Elliott seems extremely passionate about raising awareness for diabetes and finding a cure. When I saw him this leg of the tour he did seem that he’d found his own performing style. I’m happy for him - very happy! :)

Thanks for the recap and pictures, MJ. There are some great videos on YouTube of the concert. Elliott sang “A Song For You” amazingly beautiful that night.

What a difference a year makes. Last year, his Christmas song, “This Christmas” was about to be released. This year, he has two CDs out. He has a Gold CD and a Gold single which has sold almost 800,000 copies. Amazing.
