Elliott Yamin – REALLY Big in Japan

Elliott Yamin has traveled to Japan five times since May to promote the Japanese version of his album Elliott Yamin retitled Wait For You. It went gold, peaking at #8 on the Japan Billboard Top 100 chart. He returned to Japan in August to perform ten shows in cities, including Tokyo, Osaka, and Fukuoka.

The initial release of Wait For You was so popular there, a Premium edition was just released, including 2 more songs, “A Whiter Shade of Pale” and “I’ll Make You Dance”, plus Elliott’s cover of “Home”, from Japanese singer Kiyama Yusaku, who recorded a Japanese version of “Wait for You”.

By all accounts, the kids love him there!

For you completists out there, you can buy the Japanese Import of the Premium version of Wait For You at Amazon, just click the link.

I’ve got two videos after the jump–Elliott and Kiyama sing “Home”, recorded 10/11, in one, and Kiyama sings “Wait For You” half in English and half in Japanese in the other.

Check it out.

thanks for the tip, Lu. Also, I made a few corrections to the original post. Elliott has been to Japan 5 times, including his latest trip, happening as we speak…
