I watched Fantasia on the Tony’s tonight. I thought her performance was incredible and I have always been on the fence regarding her. I am certainly a fan of hers now. What a voice!!

Fabulous! MJ - thanks so much for posting the clip, I missed seeing/recording the Tonys.

Thanks MJ for the video. I watched most of the show last night and taped the rest of it because I could not hang on any longer for Fantasia. Unfortunately, my tape ran out during the middle of her song.LOL..

Love my girl. She did a great job..

Fantasia was incredible last night! It is wonderful to see her getting the critical acclaim she so deserves. She was such a class act when Jennifer Hudson did so well in her role on Dream Girls. Fantasia tried out for that part but Jennifer was cast. Every time a reporter would ask her how she felt about losing the part to Jennifer Fantasia said something to the effect that that was her blessing and that Fantasia was blessed in other ways. She really seems like a classy lady.
Plus I thought she interacted really well with Taylor when they were on Larry King a few months back.

What a fabulous performance and what an appropriate song for her, not just her character.

I did catch it last night. I agree with the rest of you. I didn’t even watch her season but am happy things are working out for her. She does have a lot of talent.

I’ve never been a Fantasia fan, but that performance was awesome. Great job.

I’ve been a Fantasia fan since Season 3, but it’s always amazing to see just how much better her voice has gotten since then. This song fits her perfectly, and it seems as though it’s her very own story. She’s amazing!

    Thanks for posting this! :smile2_tb:

I was blessed to see La Chanze’s performance as Celie on Broadway, and when I heard that Fantasia was going to step into this role I was skeptical. However, Fantasia brought me to tears with this performance, and I thought she was fantastic last night!! Way to go Fantasia!!!!!!

What an incredible performance! She milked every ounce of emotion out of that song. Teary eyes and a standing ovation from me………what the heck was wrong with that audience?……looked like everyone was glued to their seats.

Thanks so much for the link, I missed it last night.

I’ve been a huge fan of Fanstasia from the first time I saw her in auditions. I’ve never gotten into her CDs, it’s simply not my music, but I’ve always hoped that eventually she’d have some break-through opportunity to become the star I always knew she could be.

She’s just so talented, has so much natural charisma and seems like a genuinely good human being.

    so yay for Tasia.

I was never a Fantasia fan either, but, watched her biography on the Life channel, and, she won me over. Then when she appeared with Taylor on Larry King, I saw a very humble, talented young lady, with class, who so deserves her accolades. Season 3 has been panned as one of the worst for talent, with the exception of maybe this past season, so, it’s great to see both Fantasia and JHud doing well. Let’s not forget that Diana DeGarmo is also a Broadway darling.

Speaking of Season 3’s talent, I wish someone would get her on Broadway.
