Ann Marie Boskovich – American Idol Season 8 Top 36 Contestant

Ann Marie Boskovich – Jacksonville – 23 – Nashville, TN – Audition – H’Wood Group Round – H’Wood I Hope You Dance – Semi Final Week 1 – AI Hollywood Video – AI Top 36 Video
Ann Marie, the recipient of a fake-makeover during her audition, is not as inexperienced as the judges lead us to believe. This Nashville-based singer songwriter sang the theme for Little Mermaid 2 soundtrack and performed à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“God Bless Americaà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ for the NBA All Star Game in 2003. She also shot a video for one of her singles. MySpace Video1 Video2
Generous screentime for Ann means she’s got a shot at the Top 12.

I love her!! She is so down to earth, and has a great voice. Hopes she makes top 10!
She was instantly my favorite from the audition. She’s one of only two standouts for me.
I didn’t see anything outstanding with her audition. She didn’t do interesting or different with the song (Bubbly)… her voice did not particularly stand out… it was just boring. And the fake makeover thing was annoying (I know it’s not her fault though)… but anyway, I need to hear more from her for me to like her. Right now, I’m not impressed.
Don’t really like her, but as far as the plants go she’s the least annoying one!
I liked her singing best when she was singing Kara’s song. One of the few girls I remember because of that.
I’d like a before and after picture please. I like when she left and came back a “superstar.” Whatever.
Her voice is good. She has no charisma. I was bored.
One of the best auditions this year, not just based on her voice, but upon the interaction of the four judges.
Simon saw that something was missing and Randy nailed it. See your self as a star.
Gotta like a 24 year old who comes to an autiion wearing minimal makeup, thinking the organic approach will work on American Idol.
Ahhhhhhh the Little Mermaid girl……………….that song was nauseatingly bad.
She wasn’t anything to write home about and the whole make-over thing was bizarre, there were plenty of other contestants who auditioned ‘au naturel’ and they didn’t get a second chance, so nope, won’t be voting for this girl.
LOL! I thought she came with no make-up so the AI crew could really do a makeover job on her. I mean on the show. However, she is a pretty girl, so I don’t know what they were thinking. Her voice was nice but nothing that jumps out to me to say, “I am special!”
I like her. She has the potential to make music i would buy.
In Hollywood, you could see her potential as this year’s beautiful girl. She could go far. That being said, I find her voice completely unmemorable.
Dull as dishwater.
“the whole make-over thing was bizarre ”
I guess I was the only one who didn’t think she looked that different when she came back. Maybe, a little eyeliner???
It also seemed so contrived to me. They do that at least once a year…send someone scurrying through the hallways on some ridiculous errand, so it didn’t surprise me.
Conversely, they usually never put that person through and are content to just let that person make a fool of themselves running aimlessly around, so the fact that they put her through was something different.
I just thought the judges’ act reeked of pre-planned. I don’t blame the girl for that. *We* must do as we are told. Frankly, I don’t remember her voice that much. Time will tell.
Sometimes I really hate this show! Stupid snippets and contrived interviews have a lasting affect on the gullible TV audience. And I am as guilty as the vast majority (never got past DC’s horrible hair). I know this is “made for TV” but it makes me really sad that Ann Marie has to bear the cross of her contrived audition. I think she has a good voice and I hope I get to hear more from her.
Bubbly was a crap song to sing for an audition (so is Umbrella, so Simon opted for the lesser of two evils there) but she sounded good, unfortunately, when I listened to her original stuff it was pretty generic country-lite crap. Hopefully, she will wrap the voice from her audition around some classic songs and WOW! us because she is no Tatiana in the entertainment department.
Her audition really came across to me as something that was contrived to give her a story arc – “good singer, but unattractive and needs to work on her charisma to win over the judges”. Sound familiar? She’s clearly got a great voice and is an attractive girl. In my mind, she is one of the “middle of the road” contestants that could break out in the semi’s and eventually overtake the over-pimped front runners.
I liked her and liked the fact that she didn’t do anything drastic when they sent her out and told her to come back. The first time she’d come in appearing as a bit of a fangirl of Kara’s, which actually didn’t bother me because I sensed that she was being genuine. But the second time she came in more focused on herself and what she had to offer Idol. It worked for me. She may not have the best voice in the competition, but I think she’s one of the strongest of the females, and very likeable as well. I think she’ll go far.
She seems like a nice person and has a good voice but she’ll need either a weak semi-finals group to advance to the Top 12 or she’ll need to really show some personality. Right now women and girls like Joanna Pacitti and Arianna Afsar have amassed major followings among the tweens and teens. If she ends up in a group with them (or Jasmine Murray) she could be in trouble. I’m rooting for her.
I thought she was absolutely gorgeous the first time she appeared and could not believe the big deal they made about her looks. And I like her singing a lot, if she goes the singer-songwriter route. She was the only girl who stood out for me before Hollywood. She did not impress last week, however, but I still have my eye out for her, along with Jessica Langstreth and Jasmine Murray. Otherwise, I’m all about the guys this year.
I liked her well enough but it’s the guys for me this season.
