Could TPTB be waiting to see what DA can do on his own without Daddy’s nagging influence? Is this a test for little David? Banning Daddy from backstage removes the problem. Will David listen to the Professional vocal coaches and perform accordingly this week? Or will he listen to his Dad, change the lyrics at the last minute and defy the Voice coaches? Only his performance will tell.

I know some past Idols were pageant contestants, Kellie Pickler comes to mind as one.
