Thanks for the link to Phil’s song. I hope that it will be very successful for him.

I’m not a big country music fan so I can’t fairly judge the song. I think that I only own country music CDs by Willie Nelson (LOVE HIM), Tim McGraw (like him) and Bucky (love him, but have never opened/played his CD.)

Best wishes to Phil. I hope that he makes a kick-ass CD and sells millions. I only bought Bucky’s CD because I love him. I won’t be buying Phil’s since I know that I would never listen to it and I don’t feel invested enough in him to buy the CD just to support him as an artist.

Loved Chris’ promo. Reminds me a bit of Bill Gates’ last day

Not a very distinguishable voice. He sounds like so many others. The song is OK, his vocals are just OK….he’ll go the way of Blake and Jordin sorry to say. A tough hill to climb.

I think Phil is gonna sell a lot of records. Yes, it’s the not most original music in the world, but it’s catchy, easy to remember, and people will sing it. I think it’s is a great first single and I’m excited about the possibility.

I think Phil will sell a lot of records, as well.
WTG, Phil, on a great debut single!

i’m pretty really good at predicting hit songs for pop/rock (i knew jordin would do well with tatoo and knew blake won’t do well with his song) but i’ve been really hit & miss for country. this one is a tough one for me. good song, it doesn’t sound like Phil at all to me. it will do ok on the country chart (no higher than top 20). he’ll sell ok (100k to 150k total). initial sales will between 30k - 50k. let’s see if i’m right. :)

With catchy songs like that, I think Phil can do as well as Bucky. Neither will reach the heights of Idol’s first country crooner, Josh Gracin. Too bad Josh has had such trouble getting any traction for his second album. Wonder if Lyric Street’s focus is about to shift to the newest Idol in the stable? Surely there’s enough space in the Lyric Street promotional calendar for two ex-armed forces Idol finalists.

I love Bucky and Phil. Who has the best voice? I say Phil definitely. He sounds great - especially in the country genre. But Bucky looks more country AND has a really good voice. This will be interesting to see how Phil does compared to Bucky.

I’m really pleased with how Phil’s first single turned out. Like what MJ said, it’s not the sappy love ballad you would expect from Phil, which is certainly a good thing in terms of commercial appeal. I would have to agree that the lyrics are repetitive, but hopefully it will catch on with the country market. I’m not very familiar with country music (never really been a fan), so I have no idea how successful it will be on the grand scheme of things, but it will certainly be in my iTunes. Best of luck to Phil!

Great song for Phil. He’s a perfect country fit….

    A potential Season 6 winner….. :thumbup_tb:

Wishing Phil the best! I want to hear more on the album because I think Phil’s vocal range goes beyond the country corral. Maybe some Southern Rock?
