   Gosh, I really hope Taylor makes time to attend this party, it would be some great exposure for him.

   Fantasia did a fabulous job last year - check that clip out too.

   Griz, you’re right about Fantasia’s performance. I watched it live on the internet in 2004 and the girl brought down the house. That video clip did not give the real reaction of the audience. When you have jaded music industry folks standing and screaming at you, you know you have arrived. Clive had to calm the audience down before he was able to continue with the other performers.. Not even Usher brought down the house the way Fantasia did and I LOVE Usher.

   Actually Taylor cd is a good cd for what it’s worth.

   Yes, in the blue-eyed faux-soul genre, it surely blows everyone else outta the water.

   colin james is from canada! his little big band cds are his best IMO, he covers a lot of old early rock and roll/big band stuff, he covered reet petite on his latest cd, which i love.
   i’m also getting the chance to see him next sunday! so stoked for that

   My favorite blue-eyed soul singer will always be Tina Marie. Josh stone has nice soulful voice but she does not move me one bit emotionally.

   As a Taylor fan, I hear exactly what you’re saying. I always enjoy reading your posts and appreciate your honesty. That is the good thing about MJ’s, you can lay it on the line without fear of retribution. Personally, I just can’t wait to see him on tour, cause I know that’s where the WHOMP will be present in spades…and then some. I can’t wait to see who might drop by at the Ryman.

   Speaking of the Ryman, hey msgirl!! How are you? Just a month away…whoo! Was just reading Sharon8’s post that she won’t be able to make the Ryman. I am sure that if there are no takers here, that she can post this over at Gray’s touristas thread where someone would mostly likely be glad to get their hands on these, and would be willing to pay her full cost to see Taylor at the RYMAN. (What a treat we’re in for.)

   OMG… somebody give me a song to get “Irreplaceable” out of my friggin head. I was switching stations earlier and it was on and now it’s stuck in my head.

   Wow, Sarah. Thanks for posting that! Everyday at 12 Noon the local station that is the only thing I can get in my office plays Beyonce singing the National Anthem. So I think, “Okay, the girl does have a voice. Pretty decent.” Then they play that “Irriplaceable” thing — and my ears start bleeding!! Gawd, how I hate that sh*t - and how many plays does she get? I wish someone would make a bleeding ears emoticon. It would be my trademark!

    I really hope Taylor can attend the awards show Sunday night, it looks like many of his idls are going to be there..
    Sigh.. I hope someday Taylor gets to perform at the Grammys and win one too.

    CarieB, sounds like we have similar musical tastes, except mine’s probably just a tad bit on the “harder” side. On my Ipod I have Daughtry, Evanescence, Three Days Grace, Distubed, Breaking Benjamin, Shinedown, Audioslave, Papa Roach, Luna Coil, Flyleaf, and Muse. Of course, I’ve also gotta have some U2 and Prince thrown in there too. It’s safe to say I don’t listen to AC radio. LOL

    radname, if you see this, i’d like to know what kind of other music you like, eg the driving beat and wanna slit your wrist music you talked about? i bet everything you like is good, from the names you’ve already put out there. i like a lot of different kinds of music, like chill out, jazz, bluegrass, soul, hip hop, r&b, old brit pop, just lots of things.

    sexygirl, look, it’s alright. sigh. i wasn’t saying chris didn’t sound like nickelback. he does. and i didn’t buy his cd because i don’t mind that sound but i don’t buy it either. i’m just saying i get the impression some taylor fans are jealous of his success. i could be wrong about that but it’s like, why not be happy for him? there’s a lot of negativity, it seems. these idol people aren’t joined at the hip. awhile ago, they didn’t even know each other. i’m happy for anyone who makes it in this dog-eat-dog business. yeah, chris’ music is derivative but you can tell he’s really into it and he does have a great voice for it.

    Who’s Your Daddy ? By morning there will be a dozen more guys claiming to be the father of Anna Nicoles baby. They will crawl out from under the rocks to suck up their 15 minutes of fame. Who knows who the daddy is but I don’t believe for a minute that creepy leech of a lawyer is. He has fought against the dna test too much. If he is sure that he is the father he would have had the test by now. Money brings out all the low lifes. So sad for the baby. Every Tom , Dick and Harry will want custody because this little girl may be a very rich little girl some day. Another poor little rich girl.

    holy shit… Elliott’s song is AMAZING. This guys voice literally killes me.
    I love him so much.
    Most talented out of an idol ever.

    well to be honest i like a little bit of everything, if i have my ipod on shuffle it goes from elvis presley, to fergie, to pavarotti, to music from a broadway, to garth brooks, to from autumn to ashes, to bach. i wouldn’t say i just like one type of music, or one type is my favourite although i am pretty partial to late 50s/early 60s rock and roll
