SINGLE: JUST TO FEEL THAT WAY
Is Taylor Hicks the latest “American Idol” to realize that the quickest path to fame and fortune is country, instead of the wall of steel presented by top 40? Seems that way, based on second Southern rock single “Just to Feel That Way.” Granted, first single “Do I Make You Proud” was as formulaic as they come, in the typical mold of “AI” debuts. And on “Just to Feel That Way,” he emits a powerhouse vocal that goes from coarse growl to cool-guy sensitivity; in fact, it is more convincing than most anything he sang on the show.

Bad thing, now the radio people are supporting Chris and still comparing him to Taylor. I hate that. I live in Houston, I listen to KRBE. How can they say America got it wrong! It’s just not fair and it makes me mad.
Give Taylor a chance to prove himself!
Chris deserves all of his success, but to continue comparing him to Taylor has to stop.

I think PIB will be the next single. I think the record company and Diane Warren have some plans for that one. IMO of course…..I don’t really know that. But she is award winning is she not? So is Matt.
maracaibo, i too listened to KRBE and the hyping of Chris all make that ALL day long !! They have a Chris game that they play that lasts at least 5 minutes while his music plays in the background. The giveaways every hour for the tour etc….hope Taylor’s cd gets the same or more hype.

I read the comments you posted from another board. I’ve seen a lot more comments that people who didn’t like Kat on the show actually like the album. I was surprised that she got as good a response as she did from non-fans.

Griz! Thats a great write up about JTFTW! I cant for the life of me see how they put into a country category but I’ll take it and for the record, I think Taylor could sing the shit outta country music. It aint yer grandpa’s country music anymore.

BigTayFan: I got the same response from WASH in DC. Loo and Lori said to send them an e-mail with the request and he’d put it in front of his program director. As I mentioned on Friday, the station has copies of the album but only for a contest they were running. I suggested I’d e-mail an MP3 for their use since the only copy of Taylor’s music was DIMYP which was on their computer. The person I spoke to said she’d ask her boss if he would allow a copy of the album to be opened so it could be played. I asked for JTFTW and PIB.
I sent one earlier today.
