George Huff Releases Self-Titled Album April 7

And yet another Idol record announcement.   This one is good news.   Season 3’s George Huff is set to release his gospel-flavored sophomore album on April 7.   From the press release:

Beloved season 3 “American Idol” finalist George Huff will release his gospel flavored sophomore disc simply titled “George Huff” on April 7th, via E1 Music. “The CD is reflective of the times we are living in and the hardships I’ve endured in my own life. My music tells the story but also encourages you to hold on, turn your situation around and have some fun,” exclaims Huff. These sentiments are reflected in the stand-out single, aptly titled “Don’t Let Go.” “So many people are going through hard times financially and spiritually and my music is meant to recognize that and be an antidote for it,” said Huff. While Huff’s music is expressive about today’s world, it is also a lot of fun. His gift for creating joyful, state-of-the-art Gospel/R&B is on full display. On “Turn It Around” Huff can be heard asking playfully “Where my horns at?” before shouting gleefully, “Sounds mighty good!”

The album is produced by Grammy Award-winning producer Aaron Lindsey and Jamiene ‘J-Skills’ Thompson.

According to the release, George talks to seasonmates Fantasia Barrino and Jennifer Hudson nearly every day, “Obviously we have been through many ups and downs in the last few years and I have prayed for them and they have prayed for me.”

I LOVE George. I have his first cd and am excited about his second. There is just something about him that is really special and genuine.

YAY for the Huffster. He was my favorite during his season. Between his infectious personality and “the bounce,” I just liked this guy. I’ll have to check out the cd and as long as it’s not to preachy gospel music, I think my credit card may have to make another purchase on iTunes, via MJ’s link of course :)

  • colette:

one of the sweetest, most soulful kids ever on Idol. best to him

  • Zsus:

George!! I love him so. I hope his sophomore effort makes a mark in Christian Contemporary.

  • I remember when I used to think he and Jennifer Hudson were dating. :rolleyes_wp:

His first album was great – love the song “You Know Me.”

He just has an awesome voice.

It’s great to hear from George! He was one of my faves from S3. His version of “Take Me to The Pilot” is still one of Idol’s best performances. He has a beautiful voice and he was such a sweetheart.

  • yay George! He was my favorite on his season of AI. I got his Christmas EP and his first full album. Love the guy. I’ll always support him. :)

    Go George!!!

I love Christmas music and happened to catch him on some gospel special a few months back. He was great and had the crowd on their feet! He is just so likable and sincere and has a really nice voice.

    Go George!!!

  • JOJOSIE:

Another fan of George’s here. I’m not a fan of Christian music however except at Holidays, some of his songs however seem more inspirational without being preachy. He just makes you happy. I read awhile back that he is grateful for his time on Idol as he is able to make a living now in music. Not getting rich but doing better than he ever was before Idol. To me that is success.

  • itsalleternal:

Wow that came out of nowhere and he really deserves it! He was the only good guy (and a great one at that) on season 3.

  • rita205:

Yes, and also good news for him is that he has been invited to perform at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival. JazzFest is renowned for its gospel shows; the gospel tent on the Sunday morning of the fest is the place to be, and I hope that’s where George will be performing. It’s an honor for him to be showing up there, so if anyone reading this is planning on a trip to the festival, you might want to plan around his performance (schedule to be announced)

  • Lu:

    Awwww… George. What a sweetheart!

  • There’s never been anyone else quite like George on Idol and I smile just thinking about him. I’m also excited about this CD. George deserves every good thing that comes his way!
