Glee News: NBC Pulls Cast From Thanksgiving Parade, Tour In Planning Stages

A couple of Glee items for you:

Enteratainment Weekly has confirmed the Glee cast was pulled from the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade by NBC.

The parade organizers initially invited the cast, only to have NBC pull the plug later.   A couple of updates from EW:

Macy’s spokesperson Orlando Veras sent EW.com this statement: ‘As with any live event, the talent booking process is a fluid one subject to frequent updates or changes. Due to this fact, we don’t confirm talent appearances for the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade until early November when the final line-up is determined.’

Another source close to the event confirmed to EW.com that while the parade has featured talent from other networks ‘” American Idol singers, High School Musical actors ‘” there was concern that featuring the entire cast of a rival’s show amounted to outright promotion.

With NBC’s ratings in the crapper, no wonder they’re bitchy!

Here’s some happier news, also from EW, the Glee kids may be hitting the road!

EW has learned that a Glee music tour is in the early discussion stage. It’s not surprising given that the series’ music has been exploding on iTunes and the first Glee soundtrack drops on Nov. 3. Back in July, Fox Broadcasting president Kevin Reilly hinted at the development to EW. ‘We’ve had a tremendous amount of enthusiasm from our music partners, ‘ said Reilly. ‘ Certainly if these kids become stars in their own right, who knows? Live appearances. Albums. There’s lots of things that could happen.’ While nothing is 100% confirmed yet, co-creator Ryan Murphy tells EW that the tour would most likely be scheduled around spring 2010, once shooting of the first season has ended.

I can’t tell a lie, I’d go see that!
