On Friday’s Glee, Coach Beiste (Dot-Marie Jones) returns to McKinley as Sheldon, after a transition from female to male.

Principal Sylvester (Jane Lynch) welcomes her back in a big way, with a concert featuring Unique. Remember her? Alex Newell is back as the transgender student, Unique Adams.

While, many at McKinley support Sheldon’s transition, he has to put up with the typical bullying too. Unique is back to help the newly transitioned Sheldon make the adjustment. She performs “I Know Where I’ve Been” from Hairspray with a 200+ transgender choir backing her up. Will (Matthew Morrison) and Unique sing “Same Love.”

Speaking of mean, when Vocal Adrenaline play a nasty prank on Blaine (Darren Criss) and Rachel (Lea Michele), it leads Will to pull out the ole chalkboard and devote a week to a lesson on “tolerance.” The choir sings “You Give Love a Bad Name.”

Mercedes (Amber Riley) and Roderick (Noah Guthrie) shows off some sass with a performance of “All About That Bass” in the choir room. Meanwhile, in the wake of the divorce of her two dads, Rachel’s family home has been sold. The kids gather to help her pack and cope with her loss. Rachel and her new guy, Sam (Chord Overstreet) sing “Time After Time.”

Kurt (Chris Colfer) and Blaine (Darren Criss) sing “Somebody Loves You” as they continue to find their way back to each other. Almost there, kids!

Listen to EVERY SONG from “Transitioning” right here.

You Give Love A Bad Name by Bon Jovi – Vocal Adrenaline – Vocal Adrenaline sounding bland and super-generic, by design.

Same Love by Macklemore & Ryan Lewis feat Mary Lambert – Will and Unique – OMG Matt Morrison rapping. NO NO NO. On the other hand, Alex Newell sounds sublime singing the Mary Lambert bridge.

All About That Bass by Meghan Trainor – Mercedes and Roderick. I hate this gimmicky song. Would be thrilled if I never heard it again. Like ever. Having said that, Mercedes and Roderick do a great job with what they got.

Somebody Loves You by Betty Who – sung by Kurt and Blaine – Fun dance number from the soon-to-be-back-together couple. I’m not crazy about the reverb on the chorus, though. Chris Colfer has been raving about Betty Who on twitter. He must have been thrilled to sing this.

Time After Time by Cyndi Lauper sung by Sam and Rachel – Always thought this would be a great Klaine song, particularly when Kurt left for New York. But I’m not mad that Rachel and Sam sing it. I was wondering when Glee get around to performing this Cyndi Lauper classic.

I Know Where I’ve Been from Hairspray sung by Unique and a Trans Choir – Powerful performance from Alex Newell, who always brings it home.
