I did this last year…I captured all the kids who were pictured in the “Going To Hollywood” montage. Season 5 auditions featured longer montages with more contestants pictured who weren’t featured during the show. Having said that, I decided to post the caps anyway. Ford is sponsoring the montage like they did last year. The caption this year is “Who has the Edge?” These are thumbnails. Click on the pic to see a larger view.

Thanks mj. I went back through the early days of last season a couple months ago, since I didn’t find you until March or April. It was really cool to go back and follow from the beginning ‘all over again’. I’m sure it will be highly appreciated again this year.
I finally got to see the audtitions back to back on Friday eve, that’s 4 hours of idol! A lot for even the most ardent fan. Could someone please clear up a question I have. The person identified as Tom Lowe in the pictures, I know it was this guy, didn’t they show his audition?? No one has mentioned it and as thorough as you are MJ, I am sure you would have. He is a GOOD looking guy from Manchester UK who was in a boy band. Pleasant passable voice. They showed his audition here in the UK but no one in the states has mentioned it. Was it only cut for our audience? Or was it filler as we have less commercials. We seem to have seen everyone else.
Maybe he got disqualified or something. I can’t believe they wouldn’t show him as he was a hottie! Maybe they didn’t because he could sing…

There was another girl whom you didn’t seem to see either but I don’t remember much about her. Tom was HOT! We also get Cat Deely adding segments before and after the break which I could do without. You might know her from So You Think You Can Dance. Pretty girl with nothing to say. It’s pretty bad. I think we need more stuff to fill 2 hours as we don’t have many commercial breaks.

I think Tom’s audition is now uploaded at Youtube. Try searching there for his audition. It was a good audition actually, and he’s got a nice voice. I also agree with you, geekygirl on the looks…he’s EXTREMELY hot! Maybe he’ll be this year’s answer to Ace, only I hope he fairs better on the show and picks better songs.

Seattle, second row first picture is Amanda Tsubota. She did a song for Discovery Channel used to promote return of “I Shouldn’t Be Alive” and “Deadliest Catch” titled “Run To You”. It aired in early 2006. There is a full version of it available on iTunes as a PodCast and can also be heard on Cue11.com via a title search.
