Jennifer Lopez on the Golden Globes 2015 Red Carpet
We’re live blogging the Golden Globes 2015 tonight! The ceremony, hosted by Tina Fey and Amy Poehler for the third year in a row, will airs LIVE coast-to-coast on NBC from 5:00-8:00 p.m.(PST)/8:00-11:00 p.m.(EST) from the Beverly Hilton. The 72nd Annual Golden Globe Awards will be seen in more than 192 countries.
Tina and Amy hit the stage with their monologue. North Korean jokes at the top of the monologue. A couple of jokes: About “Boyhood” which took over a decade to film: Proves there are still great roles for women if you’re over 40 if you are hired when you’re under 30. Tina and Amy list the amazing accomplishments of George Clooney’s new wife, and then note that he’s receiving a lifetime achievement award. This is Tina and Amy’s last year to host! They aren’t holding back…including making Bill Cosby jokes. About “Into The Woods”: “Sleeping Beauty just thought she was having coffee with Bill Cosby.”

Jennifer Aniston and Benedict Cumberbatch (HOTTIE!) present Best Supporting Actor in a Motion Picture to JK Simmons for Birdman. Did they really not rehearse? Heh.
Dakota Johnson and Jamie Dornan present Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role in a Series, Mini-Series, Mini-Series or TV Movie to Joanne Froggatt for Downton Abbey. She’s a wonderful actress, but it probably didn’t hurt that her character was involved in a rape storyline last season. Still, a little surprised that Uzo Aduba didn’t take it.
Jennifer Lopez (As close to a wardrobe malfunction as you can get) and Jeremy Renner present Best Mini-Series or TV Movie to Fargo! I LOVED LOVED LOVED Fargo. If you haven’t watched, check it out. Jeremy asks Jennifer to open the envelope “I’ve got the nails” she says. “You’ve got the globes too,” Jeremy says. O Rly? They also present Best Actor in a Mini-Series or TV Movie to Billy Bob Thornton. Again FARGO IS AMAZING. Billy Bob was a revelation.

Naomi Watts presents a scene from Birdman, starring Michael Keaton. Emma Stone and Edward Norton also star. This is a big comeback for Michael.
The president of the HPFA takes the stage to blah blah blah blah about stuff. “Together we will stand united against anyone who tries to suppress free speech from North Korea to Paris.” A HUGE round of applause.
Colin Firth (HOTTIE!) “I wanted to be in this movie. They told me they were waiting for Benedict Cumberbatch to be born.” He introduces a clip from The Imitation Game. Benedict plays Alan Turing, the brilliant British computer scientist who was jailed when he revealed his homosexuality.
Bryan Cranston presents Best Actress by an Actress in a TV Series Gina Rodriguez for Jane the Virgin! Wow. The new CW series is getting tons of buzz, but it’s one of the lowest rated shows on the network at the moment. Wow. She’s so nervous…she might pass out! She makes it through the speech, thankfully.
They also give out Best TV Series Comedy or Musical to Transparent! from Amazon Instant Video. Jeffrey Tambor plays a trans woman in the series. The producer, Jill Soloway, has a trans parent. She also dedicates it to trans teen Leelah Alcorn who recently committed suicide after her parents isolated her and forced her through reparative therapy.

Melissa McCarthy presents the movie she appears in, St. Vincent, also starring Bill Murphy.
Sienna Miller and Vince Vaughn present Best Original Score to Johann Johannsson for The Theory of Everything. He’s from Iceland!
WHOAAAAAA IT’S PRINCE. LIKE FOR REAL! He presents Best Original Song for a Motion Picture to Common and John Legend for “Glory” from Selma. “Selma has awakened my humanity,” said Common. “The GOLDEN GLOBES go to…” said Prince. He seems a little confused about where he is. Prince won in 2007 for a song from “Happy Feet.”

Katie Holmes and Seth Meyers are pretty hilarious together. They present Best Supporting Actor in a Series, Miniseries or Movie to Matt Bomer for The Normal Heart. Matt thanks producer, Ryan Murphy and his husband and kids.

Clive Owen presents a clip from A Theory of Everything. A biopic starring Eddie Redmayne which depicts the life of Stephen Hawking.
Ricky Gervais! YAY. Wine in hand. “Nobody wants to see me insult you rich beautiful over privileged celebrities….as we’ve learned one thing. Famous people are above the law. As it should be.” He name checks Streep and Clooney. He presents Best Actress in a Motion Picture – Comedy or Musical to Amy Adams for Big Eyes. She gives a rambly speech, but it’s sweet.
The voiceover dude pronounced Gifs with a soft g. I can’t bring myself to do that. Sorry.
Salma Hayek and Kevin Smith present Miss Golden Globes Greer Grammer, Kelsey Grammer’s daughter. She comes out to do a pageant wave. They also present Best Animated Movie to How To Train Your Dragon II Let’s just say Salma’s comic timing was a little off tonight.
Kate Hudson presents a clip from Into The Woods starring Emily Blunt and Meryl Streep.
Jared Leto offers thoughts and prayers to brethren in France, before he presents for Best Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture to Patricia Arquette for Boyhood.
I guess this North Korea thing with Margaret Cho is going to be a running joke all night. I suppose a comically exaggerated depiction of Koreans is OK if the comic herself is a Korean. Or if it’s Kim Jong-un being mocked.
Kristen Wiig and Bill Hader. The worst and best of SNL. In that order. Although, Kristen’s non impression of Robert De Niro was pretty funny. They present Best Screenplay to Birdman. Oy. See below. I can’t write all the names of the screenwriters.

Jack Black presents a clip from Boyhood by Richard Linklater. This movie was filmed with the same cast over the course of 12 years, and looks absolutely amazing. It’s on my must see list.
Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin WHAT A PAIR! Funny too. “We can put aside that negative stereotype that men just aren’t funny,” said a wry Lilly. They present Best Actor in a Television Series – Comedy or Musical to Jeffrey Tambor for Transparent. He dedicates his award and performance to the transgender community. He thanks them for their courage and inspiration.

David Duchovny (HOTTIE) and Katherine Heigl present Best Actor in a TV Series – Drama to Kevin Spacey for House of Cards. He’s been nominated 8 times It’s his first win! Whoo. He got bleeped.
Julianna Margulies and Don Cheadle present The Cecil B Demille award to George Clooney. I had to think for a minute to remember Julianna’s connection to George! Ha. Julie and George are arguing about who is more of a BFF to George. Cute. I hope the video retrospective includes The Facts Of Life. They did include the South Park movie, though. “If you’re in this room,” says George, “You’ve caught the brass ring.” He says it’s not the hardware he remembers from his favorite actors, but the great moments committed to screen. Aw. He thanks his new wife, Amal, in the sweetest way possible. He mentions today’s marches in France for free speech. “We will not walk in fear.” Great speech from George.

Amy Adams presents Best Actor in a Motion Picture – Comedy or Musical to Michael Keaton for Birdman! Oh he name checks his family (his last name is Douglas) and his siblings. He grew up in a working class family. Getting choked up as he speaks of his son, Sean. Fantastic speech from Michael. This is a major comeback for him. Homeboy has lost his Pittsburgh accent, though.

“When you are running long, the thing to do is introduce Matthew Mcconaughey!” quips Amy. Ha. He presents Best Actress in a Motion Picture – Drama to Julianne Moore. Some dumb exec told her that nobody would want to watch a movie about a middle aged woman.
