Grammy Nominations Announced in Prime Time Tonight

The recording academy is trying something new this year.   Instead of holding a morning press conference to announce the year’s Grammy nominations, they’re doing it in prime time.

The show, The Grammy Nominations Concert Live, airs on CBS tonight at 9pm and will be hosted by Taylor Swift and LL Cool J.   In between the handful of Grammy announcements made tonight, will be performances from the Foo Fighters, Mariah Carey, John Mayer, B.B. King and Celine Dion.

No Idols are set to perform, but I’d bet on some being nominated.   I say Jordin Sparks and Carrie Underwood could snag some noms this year.

The Grammy Awards are scheduled to air live on CBS on Feb 8.Check out Kirsten’s awesome Grammy submission thread and tell us what you think!

I’ll be live blogging the show tonight, so set your clock..

Go Jordin!! It would be a travesty if she didn’t get a nod for No Air.

  • IdolFanatic:

Yeah I’m guessing Carrie for sure, hopefully Jordin, and perhaps Daughtry too. I will be glad to see Kelly up for something again after her new album has been out a while. Maybe next year, she’ll be up for a nomination. I can’t wait to see the day when hopefully both Davids will also be up for nominations :)

  • YankeeFan08:

I’d be shocked if Carrie didn’t receive a nomination. Hopefully Daughtry too!

  • Kirsten:

I think that Carrie and Jordin stand a good chance. There is also a lot of buzz about Jennifer Hudson.
