- According to Fred Bronson’s Chart Beat column, Carrie Underwood’s massive single, “Before He Cheats” is the 3rd longest running song on the Billboard Hot 100 of all time. Carrie Underwood was WONDERFUL last night at Oklahoma’s Centennial Celebration. So was Vince Gill, Reba, Toby Keith, and the Flaming Lips. Garth was there but he did not perform.
Congrats to Daughtry for 51 weeks on the chart without falling out of the Top 50. It’s been a helluva year with over 3.2 million CDs sold! 2 singles have sold over a million (I don’t know why “Home” has not been certified platinum???) and it looks like a gold for “Over You” in the next couple of weeks. I’m not certain how many downloads have sold for “What I Want” and “Crashed”, but the downloads have certainly passed 2.5 million. Daughtry’s appearance on the AMA’s this weekend may help sales, but at this point it’s all gravy! The band is scheduled to perform “Home” with homemade videos from fans appearing behind them on the big screen. The upcoming tour with Bon Jovi next year should be AWESOME - I can’t wait to see Chris, Jon, and the boys in April. I know I’m rambling, but as a Daughtry fan I am SO very proud!
Yesss, I am SOOO freakin proud of Daughtry. I cannot wait for the AMAs tomorrow! I am hoping to see them on tour with Bon Jovi in February! :D
Cherokee - I dunno if you post at IDF, but if you do, you should come into Chris’s forum. :)
I’m wondering how can the Daughtry band accept an award if they win for an album they didn’t make?
In just 3 weeks Carrie’s outsold every idol but Chris w/ her latest album in total sales for the past year or two.
