Here is this week’s Idol Billboard Chart
Highlights:
- Kimberley Lock’s Christmas tune, “Frosty the Snowman”, shoots up to the #1 position on the Hot Adult Contemporary Tracks chart this week. This is the third year in a row Kim has had a seasonal hit on the adult contemporary chart. The dance club mix of “Band of Gold” is #5 on the Hot Dance Club Play chart.
- Jordin Sparks drops down the Billboard 200–from 10-18. She sold 51,084 albums this week for a total of 170,336. Her single “Tattoo” is still inching it’s way up the charts. It’s on the verge of entering the Billboard Hot 100 Top 10, at #11 this week. What will probably be her next single, “No Air” with Chris Brown, has entered the Pop 100 at #97. If her singles continue to do well, the album could continue to sell at a steady pace.
- Carrie Underwood’s “Carnival Ride” drops a couple of notches, from 7-9. The album sold 89,313 this week for a total of 1,162,350. Expect that little black triangle to show up next to “Carnival Ride” any time now… While her single “So Small” sits at #1, again, on the Hot Country Songs chart, her next single, “All American Girl” enters the chart at #58.
- Kellie Pickler’s “Small Town Girl” re-enters the Billboard 200 at #186. She sold 5,035 albums this week for a total of 664,633.
- More Idol Christmas music on the charts: Elliott Yamin’s “This Christmas” debuts at #28 on the Hot Adult Contemporary Tracks chart. Mandisa’s duet with Michael W. Smith, “Christmas Day” debuts at #26 on the same chart. Mandisa has another Christmas duet, with Matthew West called “Christmas Makes Me Cry”. It debuts on The Hot Christian Adult Contemporary and Hot Christian Songs charts at #18 and #24 respectively.

and she said she had a cold when she sang this…unbelievable!
Is All American Girl Carrie’s confirmed second single then? I’m surprised by that, I thought it would be Just a Dream or Last Name. Anyways hope Jordin can sell steadily, because it looks like she won’t be having any big single sales weeks.
As far as I know it hasn’t been confirmed by her label yet, but that’s what all the radio stations are saying. I was hoping for something a little more sassy after So Small, like Flat on the Floor, Last Name, or The More Boys I Meet, but it’s all good.
