Idol Bits and Pieces
Here’s a little mini-roundup of Idol news
Matt Giraud twittered yesterday that he will be singing “Georgia on my Mind” on the American Idol Summer tour. Y’all remember his blusey perormance of the song in Hollywood put Matt on the map.
Chris Daughtry attended UJA-Federation of New York charity event Thursday where RCA/Jive Label Group president, Barry Weiss was honored as the group visionary of the year. Justin Timberlake was the master of ceremonies. Chris also attended the 40th Annual Songwriters Hall of Fame ceremony while in NYC.
A possible tracklist and alternate album cover for Jordin Sparks’ upcoming album, Battlefield, has surfaced via Sony Music Entertainment Phillippines. Jive has not confirmed if the tracks will appear on the US Album.
Clay Aiken’s new agent, David Vigliano, is shopping around a book based on his Clay’s 2006 Christmas special. Vigliano describes the book as a “modern re-invention of a Christmas Carol.”
Ryan Seacrest tells TV Guide that he believes that both Paula Abdul and Kara DioGuardi will sign new deals to continue on as judges for American Idol Season 9. “I do. I don’t have any reason to believe otherwise,” says Ryan. He also sticks up for new judge, Kara,”…for someone who’s never been on television and never been in a situation like it… I give Kara a lot of credit for having thick skin, showing up every day, having a smile on her face and doing a good job.”

Four judges is one too many. Maybe they can rotate Paula, Kara, and Randy and have Simon all the time. None of the changes on the show bothered me by the end of the season except how much time and focus was spent on the judges.
I was watching my local cable news channel this morning and when they segued into commercial, they played Kris Allen’s “Beautiful Moon”. One of the producers over there must be a KA fan.
Pretty cool!
(I wasn’t sure where to post this little tidbit, so I hope this is ok)

That book idea sounds like the lamest thing Clay has ever come up with (yes, lamer than his last cd). From what I recall that particular Christmas tour centered around a ridiculous Christmas play that was the cheesiest cheese that ever cheesed. Even some of his diehards hated it. Let me guess…Jaymes Foster was behind it and is probaby behind the book idea?
