More chart news: Billboard posts a sneak peek of this week’s Billboard charts: Adam Lambert’s “Whataya Want From Me” debuts on Top 40 at #35. Kelly Clarkson’s “Already Gone” sits pretty atop the Adult Top 40 chart at #1. Carrie Underwood’s “Temporary Home” is the Country Songs Chart Greatest Gainer at #21.
Congrats to David Cook, who has 3 songs on Rick Dees Hot Adult Top 40 2009 chart. “Light On” #18, #23, “Come Back to Me” and “The Time of My Life” at #40. The Magic Rainbow lives! Kelly Clarkson (2 spots) and Daughtry also earned chart spots. Pink is the only other artist to score 3 tunes on the year-end chart.
According to an item on AdamOfficial, Adam Lambert’s “For Your Entertainment” will be used by Fox to promote their January lineup. So watch for that!
Jennifer Hudson canceled an appearence at the 2010 Jamaica Jazz Festival to accept an opportunity to perform at the upcoming Grammy awards. ETA: Gossip rag, Star magazine is reporting that Jennifer is pregnant again.
Matt Giraud is back in Nashville writing and recording songs. On Saturday, he recorded a co-write, “I Miss You Tonight”. On Monday and Tuesday, he had writing sessions with Marcus Hummon and Jerry Flowers. He’s been having a blast, tooling around in a rented Corvette. And on Friday? Major reunion with new Nashville citizen, Danny Gokey. Check out their bubble tweet.

Even if J-Hud is pregnant again why is the number of children she has or her marital staus anyone’s concern but her own. Many single parents do a great job of raising their kids on their own. Not finding the right person to marry or being unable to marry shouldn’t prevent someone of becoming a parent if she/he wants too.
Yet again Idol is proving that winning means nothing. To feature a runner up’s song to promote their new season is a slap in the face to people who voted for Kris who actually won. They just keep shoving it down our throats. In additin, it’s not like FYE set any records. It’s not that I’m crazy about Kris’ single but at least it’s getting a lot more radio plays. It would have been nice if they promoted the winner’s single as a “perk” to the winner.
In retrospect, Idol 8 was a total bomb and a mess from beginning to end. I have to wonder if they had stayed with a tried & true format (also with only 3 judges) what might have happened if contestants were given equal face time & had the opportunity to really show us progression. Some of those contestants never had a chance to show us what they are capable of & we never got to really connect with them.
I couldn’t disagree more. Season 8 brought us Adam Lambert. For me and I’m sure countless others, he made the whole season worth watching. I think it was the best season yet and that’s because of Adam.
