    Why is Brooke wearing scrubs???

On to read the spoilers !

That’s going to be one interesting song for the group to sing….

Carly’s dress is… short and Brooke’s outfit is ‘very old fashioned’.

Wow, I’m oh so critical this morning…

  3. 3 carolina Apr 7th, 2008 at 8:56 am

Carly’s dress is clashing with her arm. :sealed_tb:

    TV Squad didn’t mention The.Brad.Pitt.

Hmm, I think I will dub Brooke: “Blue Jumpsuit Apparatus”

MJ, you might want to consider putting this picture out front ;) :

I wonder what the choir song will be? I don’t think they brought out the white suites and choir for Rihanna. Maybe I just skimmed the recap too quickly.

Hm- I’m gunna have to say that the only person I’m excited about seeing is John Legend. He’s amazing…as far as the other “artists” (ie. snoop dawwwg and miley cirus or whatever she is calling herself) i will be flipping during their acts. i dont get it idol…that was the best u could do for preformers? Snoop Dog?!?! WTF. he has No business being on idol. Oh and the SYTYCD kids? Nigel, this is idol. we dont care about dancing. give us a singer. I’d be shocked if U2 would turn down a performance seeing that Bono is mr. charity man.

Honestly, it didnt seem like an eventful night. oh well. maybe they have some surprises?

Brooke looks like she went on to the wrong show - was she supposed to make a guest appearance as a nurse on ER? Carly and a dress? IDK
Kristy and Syesha look pretty. Jason is just the cutest ever.

BTW: I am loving Travelin Thru!

oh, I have a guilty pleasure - Miley’s See You Again and GNO :redface_wp:

RE: my comments about Miley Cyrus - I have a 13 year old daughter - Hannah Montana, Brooke, Jason Castro, David A and David C are all staples in my house!

I have just noticed like some guys like girls looks “pretty” that would be Jason, ok he looks like an Elf from “Lord of the Rings”.(how Frodo doing) Well at least he dressed up and thoughs nice eyes and pretty face does cover that you need to still keep it up like another. The others one is waering a prom dress the others thought it was casual day at the office. Why does not American Idol give them a hint what to wear it is a big night?

I like Brooks hair straight though also MJ and David C do look nice.

It is a nice picture and it was quite funny how Kristy and Brook tried to sneak in the back like people do in tv interviews. Next time do what a jockster guy would do from your group try out in front more it might tick off some guys serious fans but heck it will be funny.

I am sure more spoilers will come and pictures..

I do enjoy Anne Lenox(whom was dropped) and John Legend being thier and singing.

So no live performance by any former Idols except Carrie. I guess they’ll just show the clips of Daughtry and the rest of the ones they sent to Africa. Are they doing a live show Wednesday night or just showing Sunday’s event?

  14. 14 gabygal Apr 7th, 2008 at 10:41 am

jpfan…my understanding is that wednesday night will just be the sunday night show airing along with the pretaped portions….the rest will be aired thursday during the results show

now whether daughtry is taped or if they will be live thursday, im not sure

  15. 15 BigNLiddle Apr 7th, 2008 at 12:37 pm

IDF’ers are saying that Daughtry’s part is him singing in Africa, like Carrie did with “I’ll stand by you” last year.

  16. 16 mj Apr 7th, 2008 at 1:28 pm

    The show Thursday is live.

  17. 17 GwendolynD Apr 7th, 2008 at 3:32 pm

Supposedly, the group song at the end - when everyone’s in white - is “Shout to the Lord”.

  18. 18 Ladybug Apr 7th, 2008 at 3:48 pm

Not much to interest me on IGB it appears. I do want to see the So You Think You Can Dance performers and the Idol 7 group numbers.

This makes me happy. Hope some others make a similar gesture.

Ryan Seacrest Donates His Paycheck to Idol Gives Back
    April 7, 2008
Ryan Seacrest was in a charitable mood Sunday night: In addition to hosting FOX’s Idol Gives Back special, the host also handed over his paycheck for the evening.

A source close to Seacrest tells PEOPLE that he wanted to show fans that he was serious about the cause.

“When he and Simon went to Africa last year and saw the children, it was really life-altering for him,” says the source. “He just knew he had to do his part and be willing to put his money where his mouth is.”

Idol Gives Back, which also features appearances from Brad Pitt and Miley Cyrus, airs Wednesday on FOX.

Oh and the SYTYCD kids? Nigel, this is idol. we dont care about dancing. give us a singer.

Well, if “dancers” don’t belong, neither do actors, so let’s get rid of Brad Pitt, Billy Crystal, Robin Williams, Reese Witherspoon, etc while we’re at it.

IGB is not exactly a regular Idol show. It’s a charity show in the vein of a telethon, and telethons have quite a variety of acts.

Big fat spoilery recap by the folks over at Popwatch.

  22. 22 jersey Apr 7th, 2008 at 7:34 pm

Thanks for that link, Michelle. It was a good read. I can’t wait to see Annie Lennox.

I am totally stoked about DC’s song choice!!

  24. 24 MrsTrep Apr 7th, 2008 at 8:03 pm

I am SO excited that DC is doing OLP!! I loved them back when I listened to music!!! :) So cool!! Must read more spoilers :)

  25. 25 primeminister Apr 7th, 2008 at 8:04 pm

As a finale, the Idols perform “Shout to The Lord”.

Woah, all the Jesus mentions on Idol last week must have gotten good feedback or something. Love that song, but it’s an odd choice, I think, for closing to a show that sends the we-have-the-power-to-make-change message as opposed to the God-is-in-control-Praise-Him! message.

Oh well, kudos to the producers for allowing this. I would never have guessed!

  26. 26 Sarah Apr 7th, 2008 at 8:22 pm

Thanks for the link Michelle. I’m such a spoiler ho. :)

Yeah, PM, that’s a very overtly Christian praise song. I’ve been singing it in church for years, and have actually sung it as a solo before. I wonder how some of the contestants feel about singing it. Hmmm. It’s a great song to harmonize on though, so I bet it will be pretty. :)

  27. 27 pj Apr 7th, 2008 at 8:26 pm

I just listened to Cookie’s song. I think it’s a good fit for him musically, but I’m not sure it will go over well with Simon as an inspirational song. Will he get it? What the hell do I know?

  28. 28 Sarah Apr 7th, 2008 at 8:31 pm

pj - I said in one of the other threads that I think Simon will probably call him indulgent. But it will give the viewing audience an idea of the kind of album DC will make, since he lists OLP as one of his favorite bands and biggest influences.

ETA: But I do have to give him kudos for doing a song that’s not 30 or 40 years old. Finally, something “current” on this season!!

  29. 29 cheese Apr 7th, 2008 at 9:15 pm

I suspect that David will find some way to change up “Innocent” to make it more Idol Gives Back-y. The end is kind of anthemic and belty. He might just slow one of the verses and go straight to the belty parts. It will certainly be a nice change from drippy ballads.

I actually started checked out OLP for the first time a few weeks ago because I was curious when David named them as his favorite. It took me about 30 seconds to decide to download their “A Decade” CD.

  30. 30 Sarah Apr 7th, 2008 at 9:28 pm

Cheese, and you wonder why your iTunes bill is so high. ;)

No seriously, I’ve heard of them but haven’t really listened to a lot of their music. While listening to “Innocent” on their myspace, I checked out a few of the other songs and I like them too.

(P.S. - Go Tigers! Sawry for the sports reference. I had to. :))

  31. 31 cheese Apr 8th, 2008 at 12:40 am

I might as well put this in the right thread. Here’s an acoustic performance of Raine Maida (OLP singer) singing “Innocent” in a more IGB friendly arrangement:

  32. 32 GwendolynD Apr 8th, 2008 at 10:10 am

A friend of Archie’s just revealed on IDF that he is singing a song called “Angels.” Never heard it….

  33. 33 idolbeat Apr 8th, 2008 at 11:10 am

I love Shout to the Lord! I think Jesus might be getting high ratings!

    What is Jason singing?

  34. 34 Trina Apr 8th, 2008 at 11:21 am

Would that be the Robbie Williams song Angels? There’s YouTube video Of David singing that a couple of years ago and he brings the house down.

  35. 35 GwendolynD Apr 8th, 2008 at 11:37 am

Would that be the Robbie Williams song Angels?

    That’s the one, I think.

  36. 36 grayhound Apr 8th, 2008 at 12:38 pm

Is it bad of me to hope Archie sings first tonight?
