Idol Worship: Diane Warren Heaps Praise On “Amazing” Adam Lambert

We ran into all sorts of people at Perez Hilton’s birthday party on Saturday night, which was held at famed Los Angeles hot-spot the Viper Room and featured a surprise performance by none other than Christina Aguilera(!), but far more interesting than vapid conversations we had with the likes of Tara Reid was our quick chat with Diane Warren outside on Sunset Boulevard. The veteran songwriter, Perez pal and former Idol guest judge admitted she only recently started tuning in to season 8, but was already fired up about one contestant: Adam Lambert.

American Idol’s Megan and the name game

Were you as shocked as I was that when the results of the American Idol Top 10 Motown performances were announced that the blonde with the tattoo on her arm was safe?

Her enthusiastic, but lamentable, version of Stevie Wonder’s “For Once in My Life” was a “train wreck” according to Randy Jackson (and he’s rarely that critical), while Simon Cowell labeled her singing “atrocious.” So, yes, I was stunned when she wasn’t in the bottom three. By the way, I’m not being insulting by not calling her by her name, I’m just not sure what it is.

Gokey better “Get Ready” for tough battle on “Idol”

While Milwaukee’s Danny Gokey does not seem in danger of being eliminated from the competition tonight on “American Idol,” his status as a favorite/front-runner could be in jeopardy.

On a night when the contestants sang Motown hits, with Smokey Robinson and Berry Gordy seated in the audience, Gokey sang “Get Ready.” The tune fit his voice well and Gokey gave an energetic and overall credible effort, but judge Simon Cowell termed it “clumsy and amateurish.”

The other judges were more kind.

Jordin Sparks Ready For Jonas Brothers Romance Rumors

When she heads out on the road with the Jonas Brothers this summer, Jordin Sparks knows there’s a good chance that magazines and gossip sites will romantically link her to at least one of the guys. And she’s just fine with that.

“That is so funny, because I have had so many people tell me that, and I am like, ‘Oh great, here we go,’ ” she told E! News. “It is really funny, but I am ready. … Bring it on!”

Since it’s likely that she’ll be linked to one of the brothers at some point during the trek, Sparks was asked which one she’d like to share a headline with. “I don’t know,” she said. “I think it would be scandalous on either side, because I think Kevin and Joe are taken at the moment and Nick is a lot younger than me.”

Castro Returns To Aggieland

Over the course of eight seasons on television, four words have become familiar in millions of households: à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“This is American Idolà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ .

The show has produced famous singers, from Kelly Clarkson à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬’ the showà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s inaugural winner à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬’ to Carrie Underwood and Jordin Sparks.

And it was a little more than a year ago on that show, when Jason Castro became a nationally recognized name.

à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“Ità ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s kind of a long journey, especially early on. Thereà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s a lot of waiting in line. And there were a lot of times I felt like quitting. Ià ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢d think to myself, à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã‹Why am I standing here? This is miserable — Ià ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢m not going to make it anyways.à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢ My dad encouraged me and I went through and kept making it further and further,à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ Castro said about his experience on the show.

‘American Idol’ winner plays to full house

More than 330 students packed into Trax on Monday, March 23 to see American Idol season seven winner David Cook perform a private concert for the Susquehanna student body.

The surprise performance was announced at the Student Activities Committee (SAC) weekly meeting earlier this semester and has been in the works for months.

“There was quite a bit of planning that had to be done to do an event of this size in Trax. This is the largest event that SAC has sponsored in Trax, and we were very glad to see that it was such a success,” Mallory Naill SAC president said.

Kelly Clarkson, Jessica Simpson, and Kim Kardashian: The media frenzy over à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“fat vs skinnyà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ debate.

It was standing room only last night as Kelly Clarkson took the stage for the main event at Universal Orlandoà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s annual Mardi Gras Parade. Performing songs off of her newest CD along with her previous #1 hits (without lip-syncing I might ad), she rocked the crowd in a hot black number with her image magnified on several large screens. Eventually, the crowds were packed too tight and we began to exit the park. à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“Hey you guys!à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ We turned to see one of my husbandà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s co-workers waving and walking towards us through the crowd, his young daughter by his side. à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“How does she look?à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ he asked, breathing heavy just from walking the whole 25 steps towards us. à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“What do you mean, she sounds great!à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ I added, puzzled. à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“

Simon Cowell: Ià ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢m too busy, something will have to give

The music mogul developed the idea for the talent show after the demise of Pop Idol and has been the lead judge on the show throughout its five series – but making that, along with judging Britainà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s Got Talent & American Idol, and running his television production company, running a record label and managing some of the showsà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢ winners, heà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s starting to realise he canà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t do it all.

He explained recently: à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“Something may have to give.

Julianne Hough and Chuck Wicks on the ET Stage

Real-life couple and “Dancing with the Stars” team Julianne Hough and Chuck Wicks are on the ET stage — and interviewing each other!

“When I first saw you, I thought you were hot,” Julianne reveals of her first meeting with Chuck. And then she proves he is not Mr. Smooth Moves when she tells him that he talked about catering!

But Chuck is a romantic. He remembers what Julianne was wearing at that first meeting — a little yellow jacket — and says, “You are just as beautiful inside as out. That is why I fell in love with you.”

Enthusiastic Steve Wozniak defies logic of ‘Dancing’

No one watching ABC’s Dancing With the Stars (Monday, 8 ET/PT) is likely to confuse Steve Wozniak with Fred Astaire.

Wozniak’s ungainly moves have earned him some of the lowest scores from the judges in the show’s eight seasons. Foot and hamstring injuries have hampered his limited skills, which have drawn comparisons to a dancing Teletubby.

    Jason is just so cool!!

DWTS has been full of surprises this year. I haven’t gotten the right answer yet for the pool.

I am happy to see Jordin Sparks doing so well. She was not my favorite, but she seems like a nice girl and deserves these chances.

  • frogcooke:

^^ Jordin is awesome, so its great to see her doing great

Very nicely done – thanks Frogcooke! Also heard that David was on in a segment of tonight’s Inside Edition… he was being interviewed on the KCA orange carpet? and Chris Rock walked by, interrupted the interview to shake his hand, while telling him he was a fan…. Goes a ways in dispelling that “whitebread” tag some have tried to attach to David! LOLOL… Chris Rock is as “urban” and edgy as they come, and if he digs David, dude must have some mad skillz! :smoke_tb:

  • LK09:

Thanks Frogcooke for posting the TV guide spot. Nice.

  • hermy:

aw, I didn’t know Chikezie was hosting on tv. Good for him!

  • Jabkmc:

Awww! Chikezie! I never realized, but he’s got a pretty good “narrator” voice.

  • IGetCranked:

I’m thrilled for Chikezie! I always thought he had a great personality. This type of thing suits him well!

Very cool about Chris Rock! That is surprising to me the same as the JLo Marc Anthony thing… I just never thought of them as the friendly type.

  • frogcooke:

Yeah that type of thing definately suits Chikezie! It was cool to see him again in that vid.

Archidorable McArchipants David Archuleta, fresh off the U.S. leg of his tour, accepted the Favorite Reality Show award on behalf of American Idol along with Paula Abdul, who OF COURSE interrupted him AND scared the crap out of me in what looked like costume castaways from a performance of à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“Disturbia.à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ (Seriously, what WAS that?)

  • mj:

(You guys know Ià ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢m kidding with the bitches thing right? Ià ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢m almost never serious about this cheesy show :lol_wp:)

Yes. :) . No need to explain yourself…

  • psnax:

DC is going to be at the Race for Hope benefiting the National Brain Tumor Society on May 3rd. Bet that will mean a lot to him.

Thanks for posting this Trina :) This is right in my neighborhood so I can support a great cause and see David Cook at the same time – win win!
