I mean, technically speaking, we don't know that they have ever counted a single vote on the show. The votes, as far as I know, have never once been independently audited. Sure they at least bring out some rep with a British accent from their own chosen firm at the finale to verify that the vote totals have been "certified". But, we just take it on faith that what they are telling us is true that results night and every other one too. A lot of well rated performance (WNTS) but very few made it through. The amazing SF Group 2 included -- 6 of the 13 Finalists and 4 of the Top 5 finishers: #1 Jasmine #2 Matt #5 Alison (her great performance of Alone) #6 Kris #7 Megan #12 Adam And, of course, they could resist putting Adam and Nick Mitchell bith in the same SF Group, and pairing them on the Finalist selection show. That takes a lot of imagination -- and let's put the two "theatrical" ones together, two cute blond girls together, etc. Danny’s SF Group seems to be the producer’s “boring singer” group. And with much better writing, and much better math backing things up. Pimp packages have a life span of about nine weeks, unless they are continually refreshed. If you come in Pre-pimped (Kristy Lee, Kellie Pickler, Sanjaya) and you make it to the top 24, you had about a certified nine weeks grace period to show what you can do and why you're there. With this "reformat" of taking away the 24-20-16 week rounds, and replacing them with a single performance plus pimp package, with the producer's chosen ones up against 10 paper tigers, we essentially force that nine-week grace period to start with the top 12, rather than the top 24. Nine weeks get you to Top Four week, which is where Danny (like Kristy Lee Kellie and Sanjaya before him) finally faltered.
