ABDUL OPEN TO ADOPTION

American Idol judge PAULA ABDUL is considering adoption if she is unable to have her own children biologically.
The single 44-year-old wants to raise a child with a father figure, but if she fails to find a suitable man before it is physically impossible for her to get pregnant, she will adopt.
Abdul says, “With medical technology these days, I could have children by myself using a donor. But I would rather be in a relationship so the child has a father to help instill core values.
“If it’s meant for me to have children naturally, I absolutely will. I love kids, I really do. And kids love me.
“I’m so open to the idea of adoption. But, again, I would like to be able to share the raising of the children.”

Seacrest agreed whole-heartedly when it was suggested to him that if he and bullying judge Simon Cowell ever had an extended intellectual argument rather than just sniping at each other, Seacrest would be the favourite, not Cowell.

“I think you’re right,” Seacrest said with a wide grin. “That may be the most accurate statement you’ve ever made.

Third place worked like a charm for Elliott Yamin

…As such, fans rallied around Yamin and defended him against perceived slights such as the fifth season finale when they felt Yamin was slighted by a haughty Mary J. Blige. She barely yielded Yamin a line to sing in their duet of U2’s “One.” Yamin insists he’s OK with that.

“That’s the way it was supposed to be,” he says. “Even Nigel (Lythgoe) and Ken (Warwick, “Idol” producers) were trying to get Mary to kind of sing less and let me shine more but she said to them the song was recorded this way and ‘I’m doing it the way I did it with Bono.’ Just the fact I was up there with her was crazy in a great way…

This should prolly go on yesterday’s sales thread, but I figure nobody would see it -

The Pulse Boards are reporting that the #200 album per soundscan sold 3,564, in case anyone’s interested.

I saw that. It’s certainly the lowest number I’ve seen at the #200 position on that chart in years, and quite possibly the lowest in the SoundScan era.

But Kat needs to shut up. Declaring “that was lame” is very bitchy

Ok. IMHO. When Kat pointed toward the back of the crowd and said “You in the back let me hear it” and didn’t really get a response, and then she said “That was lame, I have to admit” I believe she was talking about herself making the comment about hey you in the back. Watch in again, I think you’ll agree.

I think she is snarking on herself, not the people in the crowd.

    Speaking of Kit Kat…

June is Adopt a Shelter Cat Month for any of you who may be looking to add a feline member to your family. For more information you can also check Petfinder.

(sorry for the siderail, MJ) *Ahem*

    Tough crowd…

Being inside the beltway sucks all the joy and most of the soul out of the inhabitants - a condition called acute Policrosis. Early symptoms include the inability to speak in anything more than soundbites. It seems Kat had just the early symptoms exhibited by her utterance “That was lame” but managed to get help before the full blown condition set in.

Of course the treatment is daily doses of swimming pool therapy and a scoop of ice cream twice daily. She should be fine in no time.

Here’s an interesting article on Live Nation’s possible sale of a few of its concert sheds:

    http://cbs2chicago.com/local/local_story_157131500.html

Only 13 concerts have been scheduled for the current season.

“The reason we’re booking fewer shows is there are not as many shows this year we can fill the amphitheater with,” Shaw said. “It has nothing to do with it being for sale.”

True, it is up to the artists whether they want to be on stage with bugs and humidity or bask in air conditioning.

Kelly Clarkson, Faith Hill and Tim McGraw are among the summer’s major touring acts opting for the Allstate Arena, United Center and other indoor venues instead of sheds.

Heh, I just now saw the “Hillary is such an advocate for women and stuff like that” quote. Such a role model, our Kat. But at least she looks soooo adorable when she’s being an idiot! :-)

Blake Lewis Thinks Outside the Box with US

    http://usmagazine.com/blake_lewis_talks_to_us

    My favorite part:

Us: Weren’t you out with Lindsay Lohan once at Les Deux?
BL: [Chuckles] I was never there with her. People get stuff out of context. I was at that club many times and she’s always there, Paris is always somewhere. But if she’s there, I’m like [sarcastically] “woopie, cool, good for her.” I’m not a fan. I’m not going to lie about it. If they’re not nice to you on the first impression, they’re probably not going to be nice to you on the second. I choose not to hang out with those people.

    :lol_tb:

    I heart Blake.

ETA: OH, and yes, Sarah, your snark-o-meter is just fine. Like Spense said, I just like spreading rumors. ;-)

You know, I feel sorry for kat — how embarrassing. There’s more enthusiasm when an Elvis Impersonator visits a nursing home than any displayed by that crowd. Boy, DC sure knows how to rock it!

Someone, please, put Barbara Mikulski out to pasture….way past her time.

There’s more enthusiasm when an Elvis Impersonator visits a nursing home than any displayed by that crowd.

Considering my Gramma loves Elvis and is an retirement home, I think there would be a lot more enthusiam for an Elvis Impersonator in a nursing home then you may think (although my Gramma also says she’ll never watch an Impersonator because they’re never as good as the real thing.)
I agree with Nostradamus though, I think all the comments in the DC article were meant as pot shots to Hilary, not necessairly Kat or anyone else.

    Jadore,

Thank you for the Kelly Clarkson article. I’ve always liked her voice, but knew little of her. Now that I’ve read more about her, I adore her!

  13. 63 jadore Jun 7th, 2007 at 11:19 pm

You’re welcome, hickifino. I thought it was so cool of her to stand up to her label when they wanted her to sing her current single on Idol Gives Back:

“My label wanted me to sing ‘Never Again,’” she says. “And I was like, To promote yourself on a charity event is beyond crass. People are starving and dying and I’m up there singing some bitter pop song? And believe me, everyone wanted me to sing it. Because they are jaded and they have no soul. Imagine sitting in a room full of people totally against you. Can’t they hear themselves speaking? Capitalize on AIDS? Are you kidding? Insulting an entire nation of people? I just refused.”
