This ‘n’ that: Calling ‘American Idol’ winner sparks ‘obese’ sends wrong message
MeMe Roth, a spokeswoman for the
National Action Against Obesity, has been dodging verbal shrapnel ever since she implied that “American Idol” winner Jordin Sparks, 17, is overweight.
Roth says she’s simply worried about the potential health hazards Sparks could face as a result of excess weight.
Roth is blaming the blowback she’s getting from Sparks’ furious fans on the Fox Network, where she was first heard expressing concern for a teenager who has publicly declared that she’s perfectly happy with her body……

Kelly Clarkson’s Management Breakaway
Kelly Clarkson is going to learn how to fly on the wings of different representation.
The two-time Grammy winner has broken ties with longtime manager Jeff Kwatinetz of The Firm in Los Angeles, E! News confirmed Tuesday.
“Kelly Clarkson is an enormously talented artist and we are pleased to have served as her managers in her well-deserved rise to stardom,” a spokesperson for The Firm said in a statement. “We have only the best wishes and hopes for her in the future.”
While the parting appears amicable, it’s rumored that Kwatinetz is the one taking the heat for the lackluster radio reception for Clarkson’s new single, “Never Again”—which debuted and peaked at number eight on the Billboard Hot 100—as well as for the so-so ticket sales for her latest tour……

Simon to Ryan: I’m the American Idol, Bee-yotch!
Simon Cowell added fuel to his bitchfest with Ryan Seacrest, by claiming the more airtime he gets on “American Idol” the better the show’s ratings are. Settle down, ladies!…
Ex-Idol’s Pride Single Remember Those We’ve Lost
Former American Idol contestant Alaina Alexander may not have won the crooning contest, but she’s won a gold star for her special gay pride single, “Believe”. The video, created by The Lavender Liberal, features men, women and trans folk who may not all be gay, but have all died at the hands of homophobia. It’s definitely something to think about. And not recommended for easily depressed people.
Report: Carrie Underwood, Tony Romo engagement may be coming
Last month, Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo reportedly wanted a timeout from his romantic relationship with fourth-season American Idol champ Carrie Underwood — but now, he’s reportedly called an audible and reversed course.

Simon Cowell, Ryan Seacrest argue over ratings dip
…. While none of this argument was ever a heated conversation, it was rather funny to hear these two bickering personalities trade blows over who is to blame for American Idol’s ratings drop. Only Season Seven of American Idol will tell if it’s Ryan Seacrest, Simon Cowell, or just a tired TV show format.

Carrie Underwood Steps Up to the Plate
Carrie Underwood’s teammates at last week’s City of Hope Celebrity Softball Challenge made it known to their opponents that messing with the American Idol was not a good idea.

Plymouth entombed in ‘57 to be unearthed
…Fame and flame
Looks like “Too Hot to Handle – The Radioactive Musical” really was too hot to handle during a recent Point Loma High School student performance.
One scene had actor Jack Grubb, playing the “American Idol” star Sanjaya, reciting: “I’m gonna set the world on fire.” No sooner said than a power cord leading to a light fixture above the stage caught fire.
As audience members quickly exited, actor Albert Silva-Flores grabbed a fire extinguisher and put out the fire. When the smoke cleared, theatergoers returned, and the show went on.
Accentuate the negative
The original American Idol star, Burleson’s Kelly Clarkson, comes off as bleak as any death-metal rocker in an Elle magazine interview in which she says that despite her many heartbreak songs, “I’ve never said the words ‘I love you’ to anyone in a … relationship. Ever.”
• Marriage: “I’m not keen on marriage. I don’t let many people in.” (Open the gates, Kelly!)
• Kids: “My point of view is that I shouldn’t be a mother at all, because I’d be horrible. I’m not willing to be that selfless.” (A brutal self-evaluation!)
• Men: “I can’t stand pretty boys.” (OK, that’s a positive.)

Mary Tyler Moore is international chairperson of the event, assisted by Larry King, Trisha Yearwood and Steve Wariner…
Taylor Hicks - Taylor Hicks
Have to admit I’m a Chris Daughtry rock chick, when it comes to last year’s American Idols.
Like other Idols fans, I was shocked when Daughtry lost that vote and ended up in fourth place.
He wuz robbed, but there you are, of late, he’s become the best-selling Idols contestant and he’s nabbed a role in a movie called Jumper, due out next year. Talent will out.
Of course, this is not to say that “soul patroller” American Idols winner, Taylor Hicks, couldn’t hack it, it was his country and western/bluesy/jazzy delivery which brought in his votes and this debut album, should please Hicks fans ….
For Stars’ Moss, it’s a rite of passage
At private Los Angeles-area high schools like Notre Dame, they don’t just hand out awards like “Most Likely to be Famous” to any old slacker in assembly.
They’re reserved for young Hollywood stars and starlets, Billboard Top 100 singers and top-tier athletes.
So, when Stars center fielder Steve Moss proudly pronounced himself as his alma mater’s honoree a few years ago, pardon the chuckle when he relayed the rest of the story.
His female co-recipient was a national sweetheart, last year’s American Idol runner-up - Katharine McPhee.
“She kind of beat me to it,” Moss said of McPhee’s fame…..

Chris Sligh gets signed by Christian music label. I’ll bet that’s where all the signings will be for Season 6. Maybe Melinda will be the exception.
Interesting that he has an early release date.
That’s awesome! I heart Ace. This is what he sent out:
BIG Mack is doing amazing!!!
Body: For all of you that have been following Mackenzie…she is doing GREAT!
If you don’t know her, she’s 4 years old, the youngest of 5 girls, I’m a HUGE fan of hers, and TODAY she is CANCER FREE!!!!!!! ;-)
Much love,
Ace
This is really funny. In your face Kane!!! Apparently this guy has a rep for being a jerk.

Great news about MacKenzie. I’m so happy for her, her family, Ace and all who were concerned for her. After the bad news that Elliott’s fan with cancer died last week, this news is very much welcomed.
Chris D’s fan, Boey, has had a reoccurance of cancer and is on chemo & radiation but they’re not giving up. I feel so bad for her and her family but she’s a fighter.
Steve O could comfirm but Chris Sligh hasn’t signed a new deal yet. I just read on his blog that he won’t be able to hire management or sign with a record company until Aug. 23 which is 3 months since the finale. That’s his album that was alread out and available on Amazon.
I found this on the band’s myspace. It’s a licensing deal and the alread recorded album will be repackaged by the record company. Chris can’t take part in it and will be listed under a pseudonym. http://blog.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=blog.view&friendID=44800559&blogID=273474315&MyToken=3e3c5946-0b3f-4498-b74a-90c88a69ffe8
I think my post must have disappeared due to the link so if it doesn’t come back I’ll explain about Chris S’s deal. It’s just a licensing deal with the record company to repackage the album they’d already made. He can’t take part in anything and will be on the record under a pseudonym.
Yup, it’s just a licensing deal for Chris S.’s band :-D
Hi all!!!
I’ll be in chat later tonight, I’ve had my head buried in Ebayland building my ebay vintage jewelry bidness back up after the American Idol hoo ha took me away…lol

I know there are two sides to every story but - hmmmm - that Blake story… If it’s true - Blake, get over yourself.
While I of course agree that the pics of Kat over at Rickeys are “hot and sexy”, she is also performing at a concert, so she is singing and looking hot and sexy. She does do both.
VERY hot and sexy indeed.

I’ve had a bad day, and, the Chris snark really made me laugh out loud. Thanks everyone!! But, my guess on the movie role is that he will be playing Lucifer, as he stands on the portals of hades in black tights, black t, with a pitchfork in hand, singing “Wanted Dead or Alive.”
re: Blake and that National Enquirer story, I’m bringing over a quote from one of our great posters at Team Plaid. She points out that the NE web site advertises that they will pay big bucks for gossip. Then posts this:
Seriously, I can write better dialog that that! Sooo realistic. ;-)
Love it! You know, Ace is finally coming out of the shadow of his brother. You know, Ryan .. he’s 6′7″
(Prolly only Ace fans will get the joke.) LOL.
Hasn’t Chris wrote a song about child abuse on his record?
OMG…that Chrace pic is awesome!!! thanks for the laugh

And a wallet chain. Don’t forget the wallet chain…
Hi……….I am sorry to hear that one of the cancer patients that we read about here is not doing so well, but happy for the one who is. It is such a terrible disease and the idols have become attached to these fans, understandably.
I am just leaving a message for Taylor fans who are also on the boogie boards or TMSO. There are some really amazing pictures of Taylor with David Robinson and Bill Walton at the NBA Hall of Fame. (6′1” is a shrimp compared to those guys) These pics were taken yesterday or today. I think they are also on GettyImages.com.
Go to Mandisa’s website: www.mandisaofficial.com
You can hear clips from her album. You can hear clips of these songs:
Only The World
True Beauty
God Speaking
Voice of a Savior
Unrestrained
Broken Into Beautiful
Oh My Lord
Only You
Started watching a tribute to Ella Fitzgerald on PBS. Suprised when Rueben was introduced. Great to see him on TV
Blake - who believes anything from the National Enquirer? Only pathetic losers. That story is as fake as Pam Anderson’s assets.
Re: above post on Taylors pics, they are taken at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, not the NBA H of Fame. They are under the Taylor News topic with the thread, Taylor @ Boys and Girls Club dedication.
I am so happy for Mandisa! She was my second pick last year under Taylor in the beginning, and I wish her all the best.
