I always liked Tito. Definitely checked off the Good Guardians for any minor child list should be: Latoya, Janet and the parents. Those 4 are all crazier than Michael.

Maybe I’m missing something (and I probably am, because until Adam came along I have never paid attention to media reports etc. about celebrities), but don’t Michael Jackson’s children have a *mother(s)* – or did he find the kids in a pumpkin patch?

Yaà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢ know, as we watch MJà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s music fly off the virtual shelves in a buying frenzy, I can only hope that Michael was smart enough to leave someone other than his leeching parents in charge of his kidsà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢ inheritance.

I doubt it (JMO) – I’ve seen Adam wearing that necklace many times over the past few months. I think maybe he just likes the “SHAZAM!” look. (oops, just dated myself there, lol).

So what are the rules for Billboard 200 and hot 100? Ià ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢m sure I read it before (probably many times) but forgot about it – these charts just seem needlessly complicated.

Sorry Hazehel – there are so many threads floating around I can’t keep track of where I’ve posted.

Albums that have been out for 78 weeks (a year and a half) and that have fallen below #100 on the Billboard 200 chart will be moved to the catalog chart. This should apply to most of MJ’s stuff unless he recently had a compilation or reissue or something that hasn’t been out for more than 18 months.

Songs that have been on the Hot 100 for 20 weeks and fall below #50 are removed to the recurrent chart. Songs that chart on the Hot 100 but then fall-off before meeting recurrency criteria can reenter the main chart, but in order to do so they must be receiving active promotion as a single from the record label. So even if some of MJ’s old songs never charted long enough to be moved to the recurrent chart, they still won’t re-enter the Hot 100 because they aren’t being promoted as singles. A good (Idol-related) example of this chart rule was Jeff Buckley’s Hallelujah, which got a major sales-bump after Jason Castro sang it during S7, but it was not eligible for the Hot 100 because it was not currently receiving label promotion.

So again, the charts where MJ will make his mark this week (and next as well) are: Hot Digital Tracks, Hot Digital Songs, Comprehensive Albums, Catalog Albums, Digital Albums, and Internet Albums.

I hope that they go to MJs sister Reba or Jermaine. Reba is not in show business and seems normal. Jermaine runs a close second.

Actually I think Janet is pretty normal and would not be at all surprised if she and Jermaine Dupri end up with the kids. Rumor is they are already married.

I thought it was interesting to see how it differentiates, and how it comes down to management, how there are percentages for all of that, and then the label and everything ità ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s doing.

I think what Archie’s really saying here is: “Dang, I was shocked to see the number of people who have their hands in my pockets. Every penny I make is split 16 different ways. No one told me that part!”

Bankrate: With all this fame happening so fast, have your parents talked to you about how to be smart with your money?

David Archuleta: Oh, yeah. I’ve always been cautious with money anyway. I hate spending money. It’s really interesting to see the business side. … I’ve performed a lot and I always loved singing, but seeing the business side of the entertainment world is really interesting. There’s a lot that goes into it, a lot of people involved in making sure you do the right things with your money and don’t spend too much, because a lot of people go bankrupt with these kinds of things. People think you’re rich if you’re well known, but (you’re) not really. There’s a lot of money that was put into this project. I guess in becoming really successful, writing comes into play with credits and stuff. It’s really important to be smart with the way you spend your money.

Bankrate: So what is the most important lesson you’ve learned about being smart with your money?

David Archuleta: There are so many things. One thing I was really interested in was the different costs for songs — how much money went to complete a song, and also promotion and advertising and production of songs, (and) how different writers and producers have different rates. I thought it was interesting to see how it differentiates, and how it comes down to management, how there are percentages for all of that, and then the label and everything it’s doing.

Thanks for that. Short but sweet. It sounds like DC, Kris and Adam may all be on the stage together for GMA? That’s going to be an event not to be missed!

My husband really liked Ryan Star when we saw DC in concert. He just recently saw that he’s going to be opening for Collective Soul in our area. Pretty cool! I wonder if he’s actually tour with them…

He was *really* cute when he was younger. If you go all the way back to the “She’s Out of My Life” little clip that I saw (was it a “video” at that point?) he was so, so adorable. Putting that picture up beside what he looked like lately is unnerving.

Donà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t the mothers of the children have custody?

I think the “mothers” were just business deals. The marriage to that Rowe woman was a complete sham. I’ve never really seen anything to indicate that she functions as a mother to those kids at all.

And I think the mother of the youngest was nothing more than a surrogate.

It’s interesting to note how very deep Michael’s self-hatred of his own appearance was. (Which is odd in and of itself because he was a perfectly fine looking human being before any of his surgeries). From what we’ve seen of Michael’s 3 children, it appears they are all white. So, I don’t even think he used his own sperm in the lab-creation of his kids. That’s how much he hated his own genetics. Truly sad.

Also, one of my husband’s company’s customer’s friend (wow that’s far removed isn’t it…) went to a rehearsal and said he looked like a skeleton.

After reading Lisa Marie Presley’s it just seems the inevitable has happened, maybe. That was sobering as someone said above.

David Archuleta ‘Devastated’ by Michael Jackson’s Death

Just as Michael Jackson shot to fame at a young age, David Archuleta is in the beginning stages of his career while only a teenager. And like countless other peers and fans, the singer is already feeling the loss of the King of Pop.

“Ià ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢m really devastated to see the loss of such an amazing and inspiring artist,” Archuleta tells PopEater. “Michael Jackson has been one of the most influential artists to me and so many other people around the world.”

The ‘American Idol’ singer urges others to remember Jackson for his prolific contributions to the pop world. Archuleta says to PopEater, “While Ià ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢m really sad to hear that he has passed, I hope that the people will now appreciate the amazing work he did and not focus on the hardships he faced.”

It is interesting too how his death took away any bad feelings toward him, so she could finally appreciate him more.

It is also interesting how she feels it has such a similar feeling to when her father died.

Ditto the albums – some may be eligible for the BB 200, but most would be considered catalog titles and would only appear on the Comprehensive album chart.

ETA: MJ’s songs are also inundating the radio airwaves, but again since most of those songs are not current they won’t appear on the primary format charts, even though they are certainly impacting spins for everything else in rotation. The Quickcuts this morning were already completely whacked, and bullets and spincreases are going to look really wonky for awhile until some of the Jackson-centric programming washes out of the system.
